I’ve eaten at Zio’s a couple times before and it’s been a few years since. While in OKC, I decided to have Italian meals so I dropped in this Zio’s. From outside, the building looks old and outdated and in need of updating. Once you go inside, the outside does not do it justice. The inside is pretty marvelous and chill. Our hostess took us to the very far back of the restaurant. Which I thought was weird. Once we were seated, our waitress took care of us and got the orders and bring the food happily. Throughout the course of the dining experience, she came over ALOT and asks recurring questions while I had food in my mouth. I don’t mind a good attentive waitress but checking on customers while food in mouth or talking, a good thumbs up from a distance would suffice over than walking the distance to us. Not a complaint at all, just advice. Our waitress was excellent. I even left a nice tip. Anyways the food was great, the bread is nice and pepperoni bread appetizer is simply delicious. I didn’t have any wine this time as I saved my bladder for a beer later. Don’t let the outside fool you, just come on inside and enjoy a meal. The building appearance alone decided for me to give a 4 star rating.

We were visiting OKC and found this restaurant. We love pasta and this place did not disappoint us. The pastas were tasty and delicious and the service was excellent. The place looked clean and spacious.
We ordered the Chicken Alfredo Pasta and the Baked Ziti Pasta.
They brought us a delicious bread as an appetizer. It was soft and garlicky. I loved it.
We also got some Ceasar Salads.
The Chicken Alfredo was very good. The chicken was tender and the sauce was creamy. I asked for a lot of parmesan cheese since it didn’t have a lot of flavor. The Baked Ziti Pasta was very tasty and chunky.
The dishes had a good amount of pasta, enough to fill you up.
The waiter was very friendly, attentive and helpful.

Upon entering the restaurant the first thing noticed was the smell which was coming off the dirty floors! Ugh … we sat and placed an order regardless.
We ordered the grilled chicken Marsala with angel food pasta, Lasagne, and grilled chicken tortellini with Alfredo. If anyone has been to the Bone Fish they know how Chicken Marsala should be created and presentation is important. The chicken breasts were dry because they were not made from scratch in house but brought frozen and not moist; we sent the Tortellini Alfredo back because the chicken was so dry it was like jerky. I had the Grilled Chicken Marsala and I have to say less is more. The plate was saturated in sauce to cover the dry pieces of chicken buried under the sauce. The lasagna was buried in spaghetti sauce and the portion was very small. My Guest could not even finish the Tortellini Alfredo because it tasted artificial.
The bread was “Subway” ! And we received one dish of oil/spices and no little dishes. Oh my goodness how did this place get 3.9 stars? The house salad had a half a cup of iceberg lettuce and a half a cup of cheese with carrots and chopped tomatoes – again, how the 3.9 stars?
Needless to say – less is more, presentation is key. Going the extra mile as we had to ask for napkins and received the silver ware wrapped in a one ply torn napkin. Oh my goodness 3.9 stars really. I’d love feedback from management. Power wash the floors, being small dishes for each guest, less food, better presentation, change where you buy your chicken breasts as they are dry.

Artichoke spinach dip was once a rich and delicious appetizer. Alfredo in it had a very different taste to it. Not my favorite. The bar was out of peach billinis and the bartender told us they had not had them in a while. The chicken picatta was excellent. Truly. But the chicken and cheese tortellini was terrible. The tortellini was cold and the pasta part of the tortellini was NOT al dente it was smooth like a dumpling. Like mush. Our server seemed too busy for us and I did not want to ask for more bread or dink refills. I worked for Zios in my early 20’s. It is not nearly as good as it once was.

The restaurant was short-staffed so there was a longer than average wait. We planned to dine-in but we went to the take-out counter instead. Our order was correct, tasty and well presented. I ordered manicotti with a side salad and apple pie. The portions were large. They also threw in a bread and dipping oil.

This is my favorite Italian in OKC! I love the service and the atmosphere. The food is excellent, not much if a wait, and good quality. Definitely a must try!

Visited Zio’s 1-31-20. When entering the establishment, the smell of sewer hit us in the face from the kitchen. At that point we should have turned around and left.
Our party of five decided to stay and give the restaurant a chance. The food did not disappoint. Our dishes were good and our server was attentive and kind. When we left the restaurant, the smell of rotted sewer hit us in the face again. A person in our party lost their meal in the front parking lot from their stomach turning from the pungent order. I doubt if we will return to this Zio’s location again

That was an awful experience. The wait was longer than i believe it should have been. Lots of empty tables. Our waitress was very apologetic and nice about everything. She mentioned there were only 3 people on the floor. Drinks came fairly quickly but we didn’t order anything from the bar. Appetizer took quite a while and was mediocre at best. We got the Sampler with fried zucchini, toasted ravioli, and calamari. Our entrees were very slow to come out. From the time we walked in the door, to the time we got food was about an hour and a half. I got the Lavender Chicken. Lots of food, plenty for another meal later. Food was hot and not overcooked.
We watched a customer nearby go to two different tables and touch/look through the clean plates on them, as their waitress walked up with two extra plates in hand. Thr waitress SAW her touching all those plates and didnt bother to remove them from those tables. There’s no telling where that lady’s hands had been, and I cant forget to mention the lady was coughing and sniffling the entire meal. So I kindly asked my waitress if she would go ahead and remove them, she happily obliged.
The end of the meal was fine, the waitress got boxes for our leftovers and brought the ticket out. Tara was a lovely, apologetic waitress.
I forgot to take a photo of my meal when it came out but, it truly looked just like it did on the menu.

I had a wonderful meal and great evening at Zio’s. I dined by myself and was made to feel very welcome. The bartender/waitress was so friendly and gave me a first rate service with delightful conversation. The meal was fantastic! Best lasagna I’ve had in years! I will return again next time I’m in the OKC area.
