Social Profile:

It all began on October 12, 1975, when Uncle Freddy (Zio Fraedo in Italian) and Tony LoForte Sr. opened up a little pizza and spaghetti joint – and from that, Zio Fraedo’s was born. Decades later, Zio Fraedo’s continues to be warm and friendly place to dine with extensive menus for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We recently began serving breakfast in our dining room & outdoor patio, and have adopted the “Sherry’s Kitchen” menu which is Tony Jr.’s wife’s restaurant (previously located around the corner from Zio Fraedo’s). For lunch and dinner, we offer Italian dishes and continental cuisine. Stop by for light bites at the bar, and hang out with local regulars to hear some stories of the past. We also have a lovely covered patio f…

The food was absolutely superb—flavorful, fresh, and beautifully prepared. Our server was attentive without being intrusive and made sure our every need was taken care of throughout the meal. The atmosphere was pleasant and inviting, making it a great place to relax and enjoy good company. Portions were generous, leaving us more than satisfied. An all-around excellent dining experience, and we look forward to returning.

We had a birthday gathering with family and we all couldn’t stop saying how wonderful the food and service were! Excellent food and Ramon and servers were very attentive. They greeted us with warmth and smiles. Throughout the night their hospitality made us feel very welcomed. We will be going back! Thank you Zio Fraedo’s for an amazing dinner!

Thanksgiving Day dinner- had a lovely time out with my partner but the restaurant was very disappointing. They failed us & many others. Not enough staff! Disorganized. Overcommitted-under delivered. We’re not the only ones who said ‘we’re not doing this again’. With reservations for 5pm, we’re seated past 6pm. Had to flag a waiter to take our orders. Waited another hr for food! Appetizer: good; Salad: mediocre iceberg w bottle vinagrette; Dinner: mashed potatoes clearly tasted made from a box, sweet potatoes tasted & looked like the canned ones, rinsed to remove that candied syrup, gravy tasted from an envelope. No coffee. This was $50pp plus 20% ‘service charge’ imposed!.

Great location. The bartender Buzz was very nice and always checked on us. Food was amazing with big portions. Try the Lumpia! Its amazing. They even have a private room for events. Check them out!

Quite possibly the best Italian restaurant in the state. We travel and always try Italian.
Exceptional service to start. Nice selection of wines. We went with a Frank Family Cab.
Ordered the Almond Crusted Halibut. Just wow! Your choice of soup or salad.
Lovely desserts to choose from. Spumoni is our favorite.

Earlier this year, this was one of my favorite restaurants in the area, and we went there regularly. Then something changed. I don’t know what it was, whether they got a new cook or what, but my most recent three meals were a big let down. Even the lunchtime service.

I’m not writing this to bash on the owners, as I would love to see them get it back together; we love supporting them! Rather, I’m hoping changes are made to get it back to how it was before, or even better.

Their food is always on point. They were a little overwhelmed tonight. Felt like they were understaffed but the staff was great. Go on a non holiday night and you won’t be disappointed especially if you’re a fan of old school Italian food (think red leather booths and a vibrant local bar scene). I’ll definitely be back.

Thanksgiving Dinner was a disaster. We left after 2 hours due to zero service. Based on other reviews they don’t have the staff to deal with the amount of guests that go there for Thanksgiving. ( we had reservations a week in advance) Obviously they don’t learn from their mistakes because it has happened more than one year in a row. We ended up at Urban Plates in downtown Pleasant Hill. The turkey dinner was fantastic! I will never go to Zio Alfredo’s again after such a Major letdown.

I was fortunate to Dj at the New Year’s Eve party with the band “Top Shelf” this year. The staff, food, and atmosphere were all wonderful. We had a great time and I can’t wait to come back.
