The parsnip & garlic soup and monkfish & smoked trout chowder were both delicious. The fish and chips were very generous and excellent quality. The trout and beet pierogi was an interesting combination. Unfortunately the blacked skate was too heavily coated in the spice mix and was not a hit. The apple bread pudding was very nice. Service was friendly and efficient and the tremendous tinned fish collection adds novelty and take home delights.

Stopped here on the way to Vermont and we were pleasantly surprised. There aren’t many restaurant choices off the Taconic so finding this gem is a game changer.
As a gluten free girlie they have a dedicated fryer so you can have a fried chicken basket and fries, which is what I got.

They are known for their gourmet tinned fish which is niche, but fun. We picked one out on the self then ordered some accoutrements to go with it.

I went back a week later with a friend and ordered the chicken again.

A must stop if you’re heading North.

Had an absolutely amazing meal here at the recommendation of a family friend who is a regular. The calamari was perfectly cooked and was an honor to the animal it came from. The steamed fish was especially delicious as well. After dinner I loaded up on a multitude of tinned fish delicacies after the meal. This is a local business worthy of your support and patronage. I only wish that they would open a location in Los Angeles!

I accidentally ordered the wrong micellar water for my salon. Instead of letting it go to waste, I thought let’s go have lunch at the dinette so I can drop off these bottles to the pantry. It was the perfect afternoon. We brought the dogs. They have beautiful outdoor seating.

We ordered:
• Fried calamari
• Fish and chips
• Muscles
• Cabbage and radish salad
• Zinniaid drink

Best fish and chips of my life. It’s so hard to find good fried food. The breading on the calamari was delicate. The cabbage salad was so fresh and so thoughtful, colorful, packed with really unique vegetables, like watermelon radishes. My only critique of the whole meal Is that the muscle stock could’ve been more flavorful, same with the side coleslaw for the fish and chips. But those two things might just be subjective. As somebody with a heart condition, I really appreciated the attention to detail around salt levels. What most people consider enough salt is often for me way too much. I didn’t notice salt and pepper at the table. But I’m sure you can ask. The staff feels like family.

When we were done with our meal, we walked over to the green shed To drop off the micellar water. I ran into somebody who was picking up food. She popped her head out of the fridge like a meerkat. It’s hard to receive support, and it seemed like she may have been a little self-conscious shopping at the pantry. I said isn’t this place cool? While I put the bottles on the table. She said are you dropping off? And I told her about Micellar water and how it’s a way to wash your face without water and she says I don’t have access to water right now, so I handed her a bottle and said it sounds like you could use this. I hope you enjoy.

What a special place. If you can’t make it to Zinnia’s Dinette, You can always donate money in the form of a gift certificate

Wow, what an incredible hidden gem! We went for the vast selection of tinned fish, and were blown away by such high quality food. The fish were all so fresh and perfectly seasoned and cooked. The vegetables were also such high quality, including one of the most vibrant red tomatoes I’ve ever seen. The steamed fish in curry sauce I could eat all day every day. For such an unassuming menu, we were very pleasantly surprised. The service was fantastic as well, and we had some great help in selecting some tinned fish to take home! Wish I had found out about this place sooner, I can’t wait to go back!

How unusual to find a seafood diner in the middle of nowhere. This was a very classic diner that service mostly seafood like fish and chips and clam chips but they also have meats and salads. The fish and chips was incredibly crispy and fresh and I also enjoyed the blackened skate sandwich. Service was friendly and the ambience is what you expect in a diner. There are lots of zinnias growing outside it is very cute.

Really great food, next level for diners. The curry steam fish was so scrumptious and I loved the spice level. The kids menu is also great portion and balanced with fruit and veggies but of course with fries. The fish and chips breading was really nice and crispy. Also they were so lovely and accommodating for families and have a baby changing pad. Love this place I would highly recommend.

When my friends need a gluten free fried chicken fix this is my go to place! Hands down the best variety of delicious meals, there’s something for everyone. Clam strips basket is beyond, and there’s no where else in this region that does it so well or at all.

Don’t sleep on the bitter greens and kale salad – it’s all about balance and this goes so well with the fried baskets. Kiddos love the guppie baskets, fresh lemonade or citrus-ade, lovely selection of beer, wine and cider for the grown ups too. Even when it’s slamming the service is fun, friendly and fast.

Pro tip: order at the counter first then find your table. Make sure to stock up on tinned fish – there’s no larger selection around. Craryville and the surrounding towns are so lucky to have this gem nearby, we love to stop in after a day at Catamount on the way back home.

Charming and fun, and as good as fried seafood gets — and I am from Maine :). The global tinned fish retail is next level, the whole belly clams and fried shrimp,
stellar, the bok choy and cabbage salad made me feel less guilty and was also yummy, and the scallop chowder was soooo good. Service was warm and welcoming, and the owner chatted with us at the end of service. So happy to have this place in this locale!

What a jewel this place is for the Upper Hudson Valley area. Learning they’d actually be open on Christmas Day, we were beyond delighted to be able to return there for the holiday. Loved it more even than we did before. The incredibly loving care they put into preparing every single dish is extraordinary. He raved about his monkfish (and trout?) chowder. We shared my enormous and exquisite mushroom po boy and french fries – every element of which was made with top notch ingredients and a rare level of skill. The hospitality takes this casual experience to another level, within a profoundly individual and unique setting, with a world class collection of tinned fish and jarred items unmatched anywhere I’ve ever been. Enjoy this special place while it’s in its current magnificent incarnation!
