This was our first visit to Palm Springs, and our first meal was at Zin on Christmas Day. The owner was so warm and welcoming, as was our server, Becky. The presentation was artful and our meal was outstanding. The charming atmosphere made for a lovely and romantic evening. We loved it so much we returned for Sunday brunch. Jeremiah, the bartender waited on us. Such a friendly guy. We didn’t take pics, but the Crab Benedict and the Schnitzel were divine. This has to be one of the best restaurants in the city. We highly recommend it!

We had our first dining experience here upon arriving from Chicago. The service and food were exceptional. We had the pan seared salmon and the lobster pasta. The amount of food was large and the food was cooked perfectly! We enjoyed half bottles of wine so it was the right amount before continuing to walk along the strip to explore before walking back to our hotel. Sitting outside is also the best when you have come from snow and cold!

Zin American Bistro has been a fixture on Palm Canyon Drive for over twenty years. I had a nice dinner with friends to celebrate a birthday. They have a fixed price dinner menu consisting of three courses for thirty nine dollars (appetizer, entree and desert), and it’s a very good value. We all started with the delicious wedge salad and the blue cheese dressing – which was outstanding. The salmon entree was cooked perfectly, the mussels were great, the short ribs with mashed potatoes delicious, and the fried chicken was crispy and filling. We enjoyed the chocolate mousse and sorbet. Slow but attentive service ensured that a good time was had by all. A full bar, lengthy wine list, and specialty cocktails, covered all the bases. This is a reliably good restaurant serving very good food.

The food is delicious!!! The Happy Hour Menu is perfect. You have to get the burnt ends small plate. The burnt ends are actually a pork belly that is delicious with pickled onion on top. It comes with a jalapeño cornbread that has a caramelized crunchiness on the top and bottom that is like none other I’ve tasted. Also comes with a potato salad that had a very unique flavor as well, very tasty. I’m not a big fan of potato salad but I did really like this one. Atmosphere was simply charming. The burnt ends is a true bargain at 19.00. We ended the meal with a wonderful cup of coffee which our waiter made fresh. The service is outstanding as well. We we’re walking by and just decided to try Zin American Bistro and so happy we did. Its not often you find a restaurant with all 3 of the greats, great food, great service, great atmosphere. Try it and you’ll be glad you did!

Very disappointing experience
Based on the many positive reviews, we had high expectations for Zin, but unfortunately our experience was very disappointing from start to finish.
Despite having a reservation, the hostess refused to seat us outside and insisted the only available table was in the back of the restaurant, even though several outdoor tables remained empty for the entire duration of our visit. This set a poor tone right away.
The food itself was mediocre at best. The beef carpaccio was still partially frozen when served and completely lacking in seasoning. The burger was served on ciabatta bread instead of a brioche bun, which made it dry and unbalanced. The pasta sauce had no real flavor and honestly tasted like it came straight from a can. The salmon was brought out on a hot plate, yet the fish itself was cold. To make matters worse, the Russell’s Reserve 10 bourbon we ordered was clearly not Russell 10.
Overall, nearly every dish fell short, and nothing we ordered met the standard we expected from a restaurant with this reputation.
The only positive note was our waiter, who was friendly and did his best despite the circumstances.
Sadly, this was a very underwhelming experience, and we will not be returning.

Dinner at Zen American Bistro 01/11/25.
I had a reservation for my after elopement here for my friends and I to celebrate. The atmosphere was great and the food was good too. We loved the service. Our server was very attentive and made sure everyone was okay. Other than the no kids menu. Everything was good. I’m still giving a good rating for this place.
The downside is no kids’ menu here. So, i wouldn’t recommend this place to bring kids.

My business partner and I were referred here by friends and it was a fantastic recommendation. The restaurant is beautiful and in a great setting.
We started with some drinks at the bar. The bar has a nice selection of whiskey and beers. The bartender was great and made some really helpful suggestions regarding the menu.
Our server at the table was also very helpful. We shared the mini beef wellingtons- delicious, and the fries. I had the braised short rib over pappardelle- it was rich with flavor and I cleaned that plate.
Next time I’m in Palm Springs, I’m definitely coming back.

I had a lovely New Year’s lunch with friends at Zin Bistro. The food was really good, and the service was impeccable. Our waitress, Alexa, was outstanding and honestly deserves a promotion to general manager. I had the club sandwich, which was a great size and absolutely delicious. When one member of our party didn’t enjoy their meal, the staff were very understanding and comped the meal without hesitation. I would definitely come again.
