Wanted chinese tonight because I was craving dumplings, hing wah is closed so I came here.
They have the WORST dumplings I’ve ever had in my life and I’ve never disliked a dumpling. Their fried pork dumplings are a bland, kinda gross insult to dumplings. Usually a good dip in the dumpling sauce saves the day but that sucked too. They also looked kinda weird too (photo attached)
Bourbon chicken is okay but a lil too sweet
Lo mein and spring rolls were good, but I’ve definitely had better they weren’t all that great

Zhous house is the best Chinese restaurant I’ve ever been to. The sesame chicken is delicious! Also the lady behind the counter always remember us customers, very good customer service as well.

I got sesame chicken no seeds platter with pork fried rice. Platter was small for $13.41. Rice was bland and not the color I’m used to for pork fried rice. Chicken was VERY small pieces ALOT FATTY but it tasted OK with sause. Egg roll was bland too.
**Hong Kong Pearl is better and bigger portions

I ordered dinner through Instacart last night. I have some constructive criticism. Dinner was OK . But The meat in your dumplings was plentiful, but the dough was too thick and heavy. The crab Rangoon tasted and looked like it was air fried because The dough was too hard, and the filling was dried out. The shrimp roll had one little piece of shrimp. Why am I paying more? Zhous‘s house is not what it used to be.

Maaaaaaaan, let me tell you! I’ve been living in the area for about 6 years now. I’m originally from North Philly. One thing I’ve noticed about chinese food. The taste is different in every section of the city. I love Egg Foo Yung, and in the hood, it always has a brown gravy. I couldn’t find it with that gravy anywhere up here, until I decided to order it from Zhous…. Excellen, the gravy was spot on and it was a big portion. I go every friday now.

Do plan on waiting a lot longer than what they originally tell you. I ordered a large chicken fried rice with one egg roll. The chicken tasted like it was boiled and then thrown on top of the rice. Rice was a little undercooked.
If you plan on dining in, I do not recommend dining in when it is 80 degrees or higher. The weather is 97 degrees outside today, July 29th, and when I walk into the Zhou’s House restaurant, the temperature was the same as it is outside. They did have a small fan running, but it did nothing to help with the heat or the smell of the place.

Food was not eatable and not chewable , overcooked, with a terrible smell , no sesame seeds at all . The worst food which I try. Manager on call said – call DoorDash . It’s not DoorDash fault , men , it’s your restaurant with not acceptable food , problem . 1- .

I ordered shrimp toast and house pan fried noodles. The teen teen behind the counter was not the brightest guy, saying he didn’t hear me say I wanted the shrimp toast. When I walked in I clearly said do you have shrimp toast, he said yes , I sai I will have that and the house pan fried noodles. So he decided to omit my shrimp toast, so when I called to complain, rather that offering to make it for me if I could come back, since I was not charged, he simply dismissed me and said he didn’t hear me?! When I got home and ate my noodles it was disappointing! 90 % vegetables and very little noodles. I emphasized this was my first time here. I. Other words, you have one chance to make a first impression!! Not impressed. The dish is NOT a noodle dish, it’s a veggie dish. Liters one fork full of noodles. The flavor was bland. Meh

This place is the definition of a hidden gem. I tried them for the first time last night and not only was the delivery super quick but it was some of the best Chinese takeout I’ve ever had! I tried the Hunan Chicken and pork fried rice combo platter. The chicken was tender and perfectly seasoned and the fried rice was fresh and true wok style, not over cooked like is in many other local Chinese restaurants. I have found a new go to for delivery and take out!
