January 2025:
Stopped by for lunch and ordered the zhengyalov sandwich, the meat pie and the baklava. I enjoyed everything.

The zhengyalov was very interesting. A very nice combo of herbs wrapped in a warm flatbread.

The beef pie was tasty. Came with a lemon wedge.

For dessert, the baklava tasted fresh and not super sweet (which I liked). Service was okay.

A very cozy and stylish spot with authentic Armenian vibes! The Zhengyalov Hats is incredibly juicy and flavorful— it’s probably the only herb-based meal that feels just as hearty and nutritious as a meat dish. Their Pakhlava and Armenian coffee are also excellent. Highly recommended!

What a lovely surprise! Owner was very delightful and kind. Zhengyalov was fresh and delicious…my first time trying it. They also have Saporini Pear Soda, an Armenian drink. Definitely a place to come and have a bite to eat.

Atmosphere was so comfortable with 1930s music playing in the background. I really enjoyed it all!

Very interesting food, but personally didn’t like it too much.
That’s my personal opinion.
Objectively the food was very well prepared with care and attention. The presentation was good. Service was fine and the restourant look cool.

We liked the lahmajun and the Zhengyalov Hatz! The coffee was great as well. The space was very nice and cozy, but it was way too hot so we wanted to leave quickly. We had our coffee in their little patio and we liked it. The staff were nice and kind and overall we liked our experience and we will go back!

The food is so delicious. I didn’t know they bake a lamajun, or adjarakan khachapuri, or serve guests with the tea, coffee and yummy baklava. By the way, their lamajun it’s our favorite now. We are visiting them every two days now

My favorite type of restaurant. The menu is short and sweet, meaning that have perfected their craft and it makes your selection easy. The Zhengyalov Hatz is a must try, so fresh and light and satisfying. The pork shawarma was a bit dry, but tasted good. The interior was beautifully decorated in traditional Armenian decor. Staff are polite and food comes out fast.

While seemingly a modest hole in the wall, this is a michellin-rated bake shop renowned for its namesake Armenian pies, filled with an unbelievably complex and dense mixture of at least 12 chopped herbs and greens…dill, sorrel, beet leaves, spinach, chervil, cilantro, scallions, chard, purslane, tarragon, and dandelion greens. Each herb contributes distinct flavor characteristics but the ratio to achieve a balance of acidity/tangy. sweetness, and aromatic complexity is reportedly very hard to get right . The dough , sometimes described as translucently thin but crisp, tender, bouncy and flavorful, somehow maintains structural integrity and moisture control. The overall effect of the pie is super

Visited this place when in LA to see my relatives. As usual – they propose an authentic Armenian restaurant. We go to Zhengyalov Hatz and it was a great choice. Top notch service with super friendly staff. Amazing flat grams and meat. Everything was fresh and delicious. Tea with paxlava to wrap up the amazing meal was great. Will definitely be back.

This place was a whole vibe… a travel experience. The traditional Flat bread with 7 different herbs was great, I just wish we had a dip or condiment to pair it with. Beautiful baklava and loved the open kitchen view to the ladies making the flat bead.
