I usually love Zesto’s in Brookings sd
However the last 2 times I have ordered food from there the burgers and hot dogs taste old and they have not been good at all! To the point of not being able to finish them bc of the awful taste and texture. I’m not sure what they have been doing differently but whatever it is it’s not working. Not sure if I would even go back. Which is unfortunate bc I used to love it!

One word, RUDE!
Have you ever went out for an ice cream with your wife only to be told after you order inside that you have to leave to eat your treat because the dining room is closing at 9:00 pm?! It was so unbelievably rude….complete fail by staff, mgt, and owner.

Guess what? Dairy Queen lobby was still open on our way home!

This was my first time ever trying Zesto. Immediately upon coming up to the counter, the lady working glared at my boyfriend and me. When my boyfriend started ordering, she rolled her eyes at him. Mind you, my boyfriend has a really bad stutter and has a hard time getting words out. She was extremely rude to him the duration of him ordering. When I ordered, she asked if I wanted a combo with my burger. I said yes, she asked what size, I said medium. She refused to read our order back to us when we were done, but we paid anyway. She did not give us our receipt or the drink that came with my combo. When my boyfriend went back up to get my cup, she tried charging him again even though we already paid for my combo. He paid anyway. She still had not looked for our old receipt in their system to see what we originally ordered even though we ordered like 30 seconds prior. Finally our food came, but it was missing my fries that came with my combo. When my boyfriend went up a second time to inquire about my fries, she said I didn’t get a combo meal and then went to look back at our receipt in the system. It showed that we didn’t order a combo, even though I said I wanted one. She tried making him pay AGAIN for her mistake. I told him not to and to just sit down so we could eat. She tried saying that because he ordered an avalanche ice cream treat, he couldn’t get a combo, even though the combo was for MY burger, not his. His order was entirely separate from mine as we both made it clear when we ordered our own food. I tried clarifying this with her and she got upset and rolled her eyes. I gave up. Later, she messed up another order. The guy wanted his meal to go—he said this while he ordered (we were at table closest to the cash register so I heard and saw everything)—but she didn’t ring it up that way and had his order as a dine-in and then tried telling her coworkers after he left that the guy didn’t specify he wanted his meal to go, when he clearly did. And of course these workers don’t have name tags, so I have no clue what her name is. All I know is that she is extremely rude to customers, messes up their order, tries DOUBLE CHARGING THEM FOR HER MISTAKES, and puts the blame on the customers. This could’ve been avoided if she read our order back to us and handed us our receipt the first time. Needless to say, we will not be back, which is disappointing because I was looking forward to trying Zesto as we just moved to town and our friends kept recommending it. I will not be recommending this establishment to anyone. I’m disappointed, and the manager in charge was right there, letting it happen, knowing I was frustrated but he didn’t want to step in. I worked fast food for four years not too long ago and know firsthand that everything she did was wrong. Again, we WILL NOT be back and I WILL NOT be recommending this place again. I don’t even feel comfortable giving it 1 star, but Google says I have to anyway. Poor service and poor management all-around.

I live right beside here. An honestly their food is ummy’z. It’s literally always fresh..and if u have kids. This place would be better to try cuz they got everything a kid loves.js❤️ Staff have been always nice. I go there at least 3 times a week.

How do you review a place that is an essential part of your childhood? Zesto hasn’t been in this location my entire life, but I love it just the same. I love their changing sherbet flavors, and this is the only ice cream shop around where you can get a frozen chocolate-covered banana!

Ive been going to zestos less and less, tonight the kid helping me was rude and there was a young man with curly hair sticking his tongue out at me, that helps me know I’ve been making the right decision -y last time ever at zestos was on 7/14 around 9pm

As someone who frequently uses a drive through, I am disgusted but the lack of common sense. No covers for ice cream I simply put a straw in my chocolate soda and now I am wearing my dessert. Fortunately I live near by. It’s fine not to have a drive through, but if you do please use your head. Get covers and cup holders please. I feel like that’s not too much to ask

We made the drastic mistake of thinking that this Zestos would be like the one in Watertown. It is not even close to the same quality. The burgers were tiny, dry and tasteless. They don’t even toast the buns here. The menu is not the same at all. This one doesn’t have drummies. We were so disappointed and will never come here again.
