The Poké bowl was really good and the tuna was large and sushi quality.
Stacy the bartender was a great guide
I honestly was very disappointed with our Valentine’s Day experience. My husband and I went there for a special Valentine’s dinner and expected something a little more thoughtful and romantic.
First, I was surprised the restaurant was not reserved just for Valentine’s Day, especially since they were offering a Valentine’s special menu for $65 per person. If you’re selling a premium, romantic dinner, the atmosphere should match. Instead, it felt like a regular night with people casually coming in for beers and drinks, which completely took away from the Valentine’s vibe. Honestly, we should have ordered from the regular menu — it would have been much cheaper and probably better food.
The Valentine’s menu itself was not worth the price. The bread that was advertised as “fresh” tasted like it had been baked days earlier. The main course was okay, but nothing special for the price. The dessert presentation was very poor.
To top it off, the check was brought just folded in half, with no check folder or presentation at all. For a special occasion like Valentine’s Day, small details matter, and this really missed the mark.
I’m giving 2 stars instead of 1 only because I truly enjoy this place on regular days. Unfortunately, the Valentine’s Day experience did not live up to expectations at all.
I must admit it was different than what I’m used to; however, when we are on the road, we need to be open for everything. One thing everyone needs to know that when you’re traveling flavors are REGIONAL and so what you’re palette and taste buds are accustomed to will not be on the menu.
Our service was prompt, a little on the slow side because it was somewhat busy, and the waitress greeted us with a smile each time! Kudos for that!
Without the waitress’s friendly demeanor the experience would’ve been lacking other than the cozy, well laid out area and warm atmosphere. A big high five to her because she had already pulled a shift somewhere else earlier in the day.
PS: the three star rating on the Service was an overall rating and by no means the waitress. She was definitely a five.
