We were driving back from Bar Harbor and wanted something cheap, casual, and fast for dinner. I saw the reviews for Zeppa’s, which were unbelievably high (which made me feel somewhat skeptical), and pizza sounded good after a road trip, so we decided to swing by. We called to place an order for dine-in, which in retrospect was a bit of a weird request, but we were in a rush, and they accommodated that.
We knew we were in for a treat the minute we walked in. The cozy ambiance, the board games, and the smell of fresh dough made me quickly understand what made Zeppa’s special. It’s basically a third place, a community spot. Our pizza was ready, and we accompanied it with a local beer (they had quite the variety). We ordered a large white pizza and added spicy Italian sausage. Although my husband and I are not the biggest fans of NY-style pizza (we prefer thicker ones), that was hands down the best pizza we’ve had in Maine. The dough was absolutely insane, it had the perfect amount of cheese and oil, and they didn’t skimp on the spicy sausage!
The staff was also lovely, checking on us throughout our meal. We devoured the whole pie, but I’m blaming that on the hike we had done earlier in the day. I think we just found the perfect casual dinner spot for our Acadia getaways.

Lunch at Zeppa’s was a highlight of our Maine vacation. We stopped here the Monday after the 4th of July weekend on our way from Camden to Bar Harbor. We are from NY state and this pizza felt like home.
The pepperoni pizza was delicious! We each ordered a couple of slices and they were easily some of the best I have had including pizza in NYC. I loved the crust – it had a perfect chew – and the balance of sauce and cheese. I ordered a Caesar salad to split which was also good and blood orange sorbet as well. Everything was excellent.
The restaurant is cozy, warm, and inviting. There was lots to look at while we waited for our food. The name “Zeppa” is for their dog and that theme carries through the decor as well.
Finally, the staff were so friendly! It was so wonderful to find such kind and friendly staff after what must have been a busy weekend in a tourist area.
Everything about our visit was incredible. If we didn’t live 8 hours away this would be a weekly dinner option. Amazing pizza, great atmosphere, and welcoming employees – solid 10/10. Definitely recommend you make it a point to stop here.

Such a cute place with amazing vibes and great service . We stopped by for a late afternoon meal and both the veg and non veg pizzas were equally yummy. Highly recommend if you haven’t visited this spot and is a great place on your Acadia- Boston drive which is how we landed here.
The pizzas were NY style, perfect crusts and had great toppings. The 18inch ones are totally worth the money and can easily suffice for three hungry folks.

My finance and I went there and were very happy with everything offered. The gluten free and dairy free options made me unlimited instead of limited like in a lot of other pizza joints. The atmosphere was really cozy with lots of photos and art of dogs and pizza. All the staff was very helpful and friendly and we felt right at home. Tasty and fresh ingredients! 10/10!

I tried Zeppa’s Pizza while visiting my in-laws in Ellsworth. Their pizza is by far some of the best NY style thin crust pizza I’ve ever had.
I’ll absolutely being going there again each time I’m in the area. We tried a plain cheese, veggie, and pepperoni and all three were fresh and tasty.
They did a great job with the building turning it into a very warm inviting atmosphere and very different than the convenience store that was here previously.
They also had a pretty good beer selection including their own signature pilsner. I can’t wait to try it again!

My husband and I picked up pizza on our first night in town, he said that we should have ate inside because it was cute and cozy. The pizza had really good flavor and definitely was New York style. The only drawback was the crust was a bit flat, but still had all the flavor and the pole of New York style pizza. I would definitely recommend Zeppa’s!

Just tried Zeppa’s pizza this weekend & it was one of the best pizzas I’ve had in a long time. I lived in NY for 10 years & this NY style pizza is definitely worth a try. We had the white pizza which was melt in your mouth deliciousness. The Ricotta cheese & smoked garlic blended so well with the perfectly cooked crust. The made to order cannoli’s were a perfect finish to the flavorful pizza. The friendliness & menu knowledge of the staff was an added bonus. Will definitely be back next time in town to try other menu choices!

Me and my fam, we’re coming back from Acadia and wanted to eat something (preferrably pizza subs or burgera) before we drive back It’s to our hometown in mass and this place was recommended.
We gave it a try and their pizza as well as lobster rolls were delicious. It was different than what we’re custom but good enough that we didnt even leave any crumbs lol
What I really liked about the area. What’s the atmosphere, they were dog lovers and had a lot of dog themes around there facilities, which was adorable
The people were super nice.
And sociable, which is also very cool; my family felt very welcomed

The place was very cute, loved the decor. Staff were friendly. Has indoor seating. We tried the white pizza and margherita pizza, both were good. We liked the white pizza better. Cannoli and tiramisu cups were good too. The garlic knots weren’t good, too hard and not much flavor. Overall, still a good pizza place. We did call ahead as others suggested, called a little after 5pm and picked up at 7:45pm (Friday night).

Have always said you can’t get good pizza in Maine until now. (I am from here) This is exactly like the pizza you find in New York. Even Boston doesn’t have pizza this good. Very nice cozy little place with good music to boot! So many times you go to a place and the music is horrible and loud. The woman working at the counter was super friendly and a Patriots fan-yay. I will go back every time we are in Ellsworth.
