My partner and I really appreciate that each food item has a picture to go with it as it helps us see wha to expect and what looks the most delicious for us in the moment. I ordered a the firecracker sushi burrito and it was very delicious my partner got a sumo katsu dish. It was very delicious. We are def going back.

The appetizer was really good. I got a sushi burrito, way too much imitation crab. There was hardly any poke in it. There was not a lot of rice or seaweed hoping to come back next time in the food has improved.

I’ve eaten at Zen Ramen in their Tacoma locations and always loved the atmosphere and it’s honestly one of the better experiences for me when it comes to a ramen shop in the US. That’s coming from someone who lived in Japan for 18 years.

The food is delicious and always amazes me how fast they come out with it. I normally get the poke while my partner indulges in the ramen side of things. The food comes out hot and quick for the appropriate food. In my case, the poke comes out fresh and ready to consume. Normally that’s a red flag but always tasted good and made thoroughly. This most recent time my partner got the JMT and the cook notified the girls that he forgot a piece of ingredient for it. They fixed it and it honestly did not deter the service or the experience.

The staff’s chill and friendly attitude helps with the atmosphere of the restaurant. You come in, take a gander at the menu, order at the register. Easy. The girls are not pushy, friendly, and patient. It’s self seating after order and they will give you a number for your order so they can find you. The restaurant has a very Japanese-inspired theme with good use of the wood furniture and very calm moody lighting. Dinner has a great chill vibe while you enjoy your meal. The Tacoma locations has a very anime theme going on (mainly Naruto) but the Bremerton location is more to my aesthetics that gives off a lo-fi feel to it.

Overall, I’ll continue to dine here as my partner lives in Port Orchard and I’m in Oak Harbor. My partner loves coming here and we’ll continue to come here for our once to twice a month weekend dates.

My only negative is that there isn’t a location in Oak Harbor

I cannot say enough good things about Zen Sushi! From the moment I walked in, the place felt clean, welcoming, and inviting. Ashlynn and Kyley provided service that was absolutely top tier! Friendly, professional, and incredibly knowledgeable. They made the experience feel effortless and enjoyable from start to finish.

I ordered the chicken katsu dupbap with added bean sprouts and deep fried tofu with a recommendation for a greak sake bottle to go with it. And wow, the portion sizes were beyond generous. I ate for a solid 30 minutes and still had enough left over to take home a full to-go bowl. The flavor and quality were outstanding, and the pricing was excellent for what you get.

Since coming back from my trip to Japan, I’ve been looking for a place that could live up to the quality and service I experienced there. Zen Sushi not only matched it but surpassed my expectations. Truly the best dining experience I’ve had since returning: both in terms of food and service. I’ll absolutely be back, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for an exceptional meal and warm hospitality! I’m just lucky it’s so close to my house so that I can make this a regular spot. Definitely a tucked away gem!

Ugh I really wanted to like this place but the food wasn’t IT. I love ramen but the broth wasn’t great. The sushi burrito was good but not something that makes me want to come back. The servers were darling! So helpful and had great attitudes ☺️

I absolutely love the Zen in Tacoma. Super excited to have one in Bremerton, however order to go maybe that was some of the problem. Not enough broth to cook or soften the veggies. My noodles some were not even done and a couple wads of stuck noodles. My food was definitely a 2 out 5. Service and atmosphere were really good.

The food was pretty mediocre, no real flavor or sauces to make anything stand out. The rice was also old or cooked weird or something, because it wouldn’t separate and was just one big block at the bottom of my bowl. It took awhile to order as well because the girl at the register was chatting with another employee for several minutes. I didn’t try the Ramen, but I don’t know if I’ll be coming back.

We went three times last week. All the employees at the counter have been so nice, greeting us immediately. The food has been awesome and fast, both take out and dine in. Great decoration on the inside, music could maybe be a little quieter or more varied/ambient. The booths and tables are sealed plywood, which is just fine for us but could be uncomfortable for some. We are quickly becoming regulars and I’ve heard good things about the dollar sake day so we will be back for that soon.

I used to really enjoy Zen Ramen and Sushi Burrito (seriously, I went 1-2x a week!) but something has seriously changed, and not in a good way. The flavors that once made this place a go-to spot have completely disappeared. The broth is now unbelievably thin, almost watery, with none of the depth or richness ramen should have. Instead of comforting and savory, everything just tastes oily.

The noodles are the biggest disappointment. They’ve switched to a new type that’s greasy, overly thin, and honestly disgusting. They soak up the oil instead of the broth, making the whole bowl feel heavy and unpleasant without any of the flavor to back it up.

I brought this up to the wait staff and they asked the kitchen. Apparently, they are leaning towards “higher quality ingredients” so that means they changed almost all of their flavors, but this is seriously disappointing. I used to rave about them but now I left after eating just the eggs and meat in my ramen and left the rest untouched.

Overall, the quality has gone completely downhill. What used to be a reliable favorite is now barely edible. Sadly, they’ve lost a customer. I won’t be coming back unless they go back to their old recipes and standards.

When we arrived at this new restaurant in Bremerton we were happily surprised by the look and feel of the restaurant. We loved it. Having spent 5 years living in Japan it was a fantastic. We could see they spent a lot of time in the decor and atmosphere. The Ramen was delicious (large portion) and both broths hot and tasty. The menu had large variety of choices for everyone. I am looking forward to the next visit .. maybe a sushi burrito!.. The staff was friendly and the food arrived to our table pretty quick! Loved everything about this restaurant.
Space is limited so just beware during peak times you may need to wait.
