Fire sushi. I got the salmon avocado roll for $8 CAD. It was fresh, smooth, delicious, and affordable. They make all their sushi on the spot: I saw the chefs preparing them. I could eat at this place everyday. Checkout was easy and quick.

I got the deluxe chirashi box for $25 yesterday. While this price is not my everyday lunch budget, I decided to splurge this one time and try what they have to offer. Wow it is well worth it! There are many varieties of sashimi (sweet shrimp, scallaps, tuna, salmon chunks, fish roe, and sea urchin. At sushi restaurants, they usually give you tiny bits of sashimi in chirashi and you will finish them all before all rice is consumed. But with this bowl, I have a lot of sashimi in the bowl after finishing the rice! Fish is fresh and tasty. Mind you, it is quite heavy for a lunch. Once in a while is fine though.

A few years ago, I went to Zen Kyoto FCP location for ramen. The ramen was okay and I thought it wasn’t worth the price.
Fast forward to today, I decided to give Zen Kyoto Brookfield place a shot and tried their Unagi Don. I am glad I did because it was actually very good! The Unagi was very high quality and I was surprised there was not a single bone in it (there’s always small bones in Unagi). The miso soup included some small carrot pieces and fish cake which was very nice. Service was quick and I think I waited less than 5 mins. My only (minor) complaint was that the soup was a bit cold. I would highly recommend the Unagi Don at this place.

I wish they opened up sooner! I’ve been here twice for lunch and their nigiri and rolls are so good! The fish tastes so fresh and I love how they season their rice. If you spend more than $10, they give you a free miso soup. It is a little pricey than the other options for lunch in the food court, but it’s so well worth it.

The ingredients are fresh and everything tastes amazing. There are so many options that you’ll enjoy the delicious dilemma of choosing. Be sure to try the Crunch Avocado, Salmon Lover, sushi and the Spicy Crab Dragon — they’re a must!

I visited Zen Kyoto Brookfield Place two weeks ago and ordered two Deluxe Chirashi boxes. The food itself was tasty, but the payment experience was very disappointing.
First, the same Deluxe Chirashi box was charged at two different prices ($25 and $26), which makes no sense. On top of that, when I went to pay, the cashier told me the total was $66.27 and asked me to tap my card. Only after paying did I realize they had already added a mandatory 15% tip without informing me or giving me the option to choose my own tip percentage.
Tips should always be optional, not automatically added without clear notice. I felt misled and very frustrated by this experience. Because of this lack of transparency, I will not be returning.

Zen Kyoto is my favourite Sushi place. They always use high-quality ingredients, present their items nicely, and provide excellent customer service.
I am currently gluten-free, and I asked their staff which items would be gluten-free when I went there last week. They pointed out those items and explained very clearly, and they even offered to make customized items to ensure that I get a gluten-free Sushi box or Sushi rice bowl.
I ordered the Torched Sushi Combo, which was prepared without soy or eel sauce for me, and they provided a gluten-free sauce as well. The food was amazing, and I admired them for their professionalism.
I definitely recommend this store, even though you have some dietary restrictions.
