Zen is definitely my choice for Japanese food close to home. Their fried rice is very authentic and flavorful. There is a wide variety of selections for all palates. I recommend getting the Sunshine Roll. It’s notes of crunchy and creamy, pair well with the ingredients that complete this dish.

NEVER again will I eat here. I was charged $3.75 for a tiny serving of sweet chili sauce and $3.00 for a couple packets of soy sauce which was actually a REPLACEMENT for eel sauce and wasabi mayo. THIS IS RIDICULOUS!!!!

I have NEVER had a bad experience at this place and always enjoy the food of any kind I have tried. Its DELICIOUS! The Houma roll is the absolute BEST to me! EVERY ONE FROM THIS AREA…. TRY IT! You will love it! The 3 Meat combo Zen Fried rice is absolutely delicious too! I ordered to pick up today 12-16-22 and as always, GREAT FOOD! & FRIENDLY FAST EMPLOYEES ! THANKS!

Have been back to try the toro, and it was good! Very fresh, and market price was not bad at all. It was around $20 for 5-6 slices. I have paid $40 for 5 slices in Dallas ($9 per slice) so when they said it was only $20, I had to try it! I came back again within the same month to eat it, and it was still as fresh as the first time. I also tried the lunch steak hibachi with fried rice which was good! Huge portions for the price, and of course, I had to get the sashimi sampler because I’m a sashimi girl. The fish were all fresh, and the cuts were perfect. Next time I come, I hope to try the uni!

It’s an alright sushi place for Houma. Nothing outstanding or spectacular that makes it outshine the other local Japanese restaurants. I wouldn’t necessarily go there as my first choice, but if friends ask me to go, I wouldn’t say no. It just wouldn’t be my first pick. I decided to try the sashimi platter because I was craving for it, and it was okay. Presentation was mediocre, but the slices of fish were good portions. I also ordered the rock n roll because it’s a typical standard sushi roll that I know they can’t mess up. Service was also nice! I just wish the quality of the food was better, but like I said, it’s decent for Houma. I’d still go though because there’s not many Asian food choices in this town. I just alternate amongst them.

Most likely will not be returning. The food was good but the feel I once had coming here is gone. The service was just ok. They do social distancing with sitting arrangements which is very nice. The steak was cooked to perfection and the veggies and rice were on point. I wish they had more booths and more staff so the experience would be one to remember.

I recommend the coconut sake and kimche fries. Fries were awesome, just had to add a lil spice cause I like spice, but flavor was very good. The coconut sake was perfectly paured with the food. Update: returned 5/9/24 and kimchi fries are still my goto. Wife ordered the ceviche salad(awesome) fresh and very favorable with hints of spice , citrus and tuna/salmon fresh apples pineapple.

Consistently good sushi. They have new rolls occasionally to change up their menu. Staff is friendly and the food comes out quickly. Cajun edamame was amazing, great flavor and an enjoyable spice. Some items I think are overpriced.
