Possibly the best chinese I’ve had in years. Ordered the sesame chicken and mala pork. We added soup and an egg roll. Very reasonable price and large portions. The hot and sour soup is excellent. The owner is very nice as well, we will be back for sure.

I don’t even like Chinese food y’all, it’s my boyfriend’s favorite and so I decided to give him a special treat on our travels. We stopped here and I fully expected to not enjoy it BUT this was the best Chinese food I’ve ever had. I 100% enjoyed every bite. The spring rolls were perfect, the sweet &sour chicken was banging!! The service was great and fast. The fortune cookie was an actual fortune and not some lame cliche. The best part was at the end, I fully expected to pay $50 for such exceptional food and service but instead the total was less than $30!!! If you just happen to be driving by this area – stop here for lunch or dinner!!!
PS and we got a wall scroll as a free gift!!!
Edit – today is 08/19/25 and we drove all the way back to Alabama from Roanoke VA just to have dinner at this restaurant. It was still just as amazing as we remembered it from this past December. And still less than $30 including the 22% tip. I will absolutely be back again!!

Zen House is one of the best Chinese restaurants I’ve ever been to. It’s clean, the service is always good, and the food is fantastic. The lunch specials are 5.95-6.95 and include everything pictured. That’s an outrageous value compared to fast food and it is so much better. I’ll always come back to Zen House!

Horrible experience. When I went they sat us down quick , so at first I thought we would be good. But no, once we sat down I we waited around 10 minutes to get our drinks just ordered. Which took another 5 minutes to get to us. After that we waited around 20 minutes to get our food order put in. Once we put our order in we waited around 45 minutes to get our food. Which was not correct as I ordered double steak fried rice, which they gave me steamed rice with a handful of chicken. We tryed to look past it as we waited around 45 minutes to get our food so we didn’t want to send it back to get our right orders. So we stared to eat which was when we found out that our food tasted like it had no seasonings inside of it. After adding multiple different sauces it was still not good. We ended up paying the bill and left without paying a tip. Never coming again.
