Zen House is a bit out of the way, tucked in a small, nondescript building up the hill from Duluth, so it is easy to overlook; this is most unfortunate! The food and atmosphere make for a wonderful experience, well worth the time and money.

My boyfriend and I just stopped by all the way from Moose Lake for our two year anniversary and we had an amazing time! It was my first time trying Japanese food and I had never been so excited. The staff were so sweet and friendly. Thank you for making our anniversary special for us! We will definitely be coming back soon.

Red dragon ramen and the shrimp dumplings were my favorite! The taste, textures, and presentation was all pleasing!! Service was great. Wish I knew the server who helped us because he was extremely nice, patient and helpful! As a fan of Japanese cuisine, I can’t believe we just discovered this place. We frequently visit Duluth, but don’t typically get up over the hill for dining. This restaurant serves up outstanding sushi, tempura, and some very creative rolls. The North Shore roll was so delicious as served, it never met up with soy sauce or wasabi, which I almost always use to add flavor. The Baja roll was very spicy and tasty. One in our party had a salmon Bento box. The salmon was perfectly prepared and the accessories all savory. We’ll make this a regular stop on future trips to Duluth.

Zen House is by far, one of my favorite restaurants in Duluth. I have been a loyal customer since they first opened as the first sushi restaurant in Duluth and have never been disappointed. A menu that offers plenty of Japanese cuisine without being overwhelming. Sushi and bento boxes are my favorite! Incredibly friendly staff, with a nice and comfortable atmosphere. Lunch specials are a great value and they always have daily special. There are now plenty of Japanese restaurants in Duluth, but I urge everyone to try Zen House because it’s a special place!
