Yes, this little bakery is integrated in my soul. I have been eating their delicious small cookies, 7 layer cakes, challah, challah rolls and assorted sweets for 64 years. In fact, I had an aunt that worked at the store in Detroit on 7 mile Road, when I was very little. If you have never had anything from Zeman’s you are missing a piece of Detroit heaven! You must get here immediately and start enjoying a piece of Detroit history! Don’t wait!

If I could give 10 stars, I would! Been coming for 58 yrs and nothing changes. Always clean. Service is ALWAYS top-tier. Prices reasonable. Last trip bought 10 7-layer cakes to give as gifts. During my travels (worldwide), I’ve tried many 7-layer cakes and not a single one comes close!

Opening the door a delicious smell hit my senses, they had soup on and it smelled great. The goodies in the case looked ever better. Staff was friendly, looked like they may be doing some addition to their place too.

Very disappointed in this bakery. I searched everywhere for a chocolate babka. Finally, called Zemans and they accommodated. I prepaid and when i picked it up i didn’t look in the box. When i got home and couldn’t wait to try it, i was stunned. It is not a loaf, it is a round, it is mostly dry cake, not the think layers of pastry with chocolate in between. I was planning on taking this up north with friends but will probably leave it at home.
