This is my favorite marketplace of all time! It is also where I happen to get my wedding cake from 🙂 The variety of pastries, breads, sauces, and souvenirs that are Bavarian style makes this place unique. The chicken seasoning, cherry grilling sauce and bread is amongst our favorites. If you enjoy adult beverages, they have a bloody mary mix that is terrific! With a spot in back to grab a bite, you can loose track of time in this store. I would recommend this marketplace to everyone who visits Frankenmuth!

One of the best bakeries I’ve ever been to! Highly recommend the glazed jelly filled donut and the Apple fritter. The donuts are HUGE! The pastries are one of kind. The cookies are so good and only .95 each. Prices are great here for what you get! They have a huge selection of jellies and mustards. I recommend going in the evening before they close to get discounted items!

Definitely a place to stop at while in Frankenmuth. We got a 4 pack of custard doughnuts from here and WOW, best ever, not the cheapest, but the best. Just FULL of custard and it wasn’t over the limit it was perfect. These things were huge with a good amount of tasty chocolate on top. We grabbed the 3 biggins in the front and the middle one behind, delicious!

This is a wonderful area to browse has shopping of all kinds. The bakery has alot of beautiful pastries and candies. There is a variety of breads that look wonderful and available in mini loaves to try. The orange cranberry was absolutely amazing. I bought a loaf of the iced stollen bread and the bread itself was wonderful. It has a slightly sweet taste without being overly sugary, however the fruit in it was almost nonexistent. That was disappointing. I remember it being much different and gradually over the years its become less fruit and more bread like. For the price, I would hope there would be enough fruit in it to make it truly a stollen bread. Don’t sacrifice the authenticity of the product for the sake of a few cents.
There are different shopping areas where you could find an unusual gift if needed. There is also a selection of wines that are very interesting, most being Michigan wines.
They’ve added a Cafe which we didn’t try, as we were headed to the restaurant. I think this would be a great choice for a quick sandwich or salad.

Continuing with the German vibe and old school feeling is the Zehnder’s market / cafe.
It’s situated in the basement area of the zehnders restaurant and while walking through the house, you will also pass by a gift shop which is nice for some souvenirs
The market has fresh bakery items, as well as bottled sauces and preserves as well as a full quick service menu.
I opted for the bakery section as I already knew what I wanted to get from here.
They have a giant donut, the size of your face or larger. Usually it’s gonna be a little harder than your regular donut for something this size. Also usually, it will tastyeats more cake like.
Happy to say this gigantic donut was still soft even after a 5 hour drive home. I think it could’ve been a little bit more sweet, but having it not too sweet is actually so much better, especially if you’re having it with a coffee
Service was quick. Didn’t have to wait around long to be cashed out as there’s a few pay stations available.
They have on site parking for the restaurant and market so it’s pretty easy to get parking. But it does get pretty full in the lot too.

Love Zehnder’s Marketplace. When eating upstairs in the restaurant it’s a must to go downstairs to browse and shop. The bakery has the best homemade cakes, pastries, and breads. And, the wine and gift shop always has something to please. If you don’t want to eat in the upstairs dining room there is the Cafe that serves chicken dinners and also does takeout for those who want to take meals home for the family.

I went to the marketplace to get some spices and some deserts. The place is decorated well but the service I got checking out was not great. They were still open for another hour and it took a while for me to be helped while there was two people right in front of me. Both didnt seem pleasant. Lucas the cashier finally noticed and acted like it was such a bother to do his job and seemed very lazy. He treated not only me poorly but others with a terrible attitude like he didnt wanna be there, if you cant provide basic customer service then find another job to make look bad.
