To Zaxby’s Guest Services,
I am writing to formally log a complaint regarding a recent experience at your location in lakeland florida 2/20/2026. As a loyal customer who frequents this establishment weekly, I was appalled by both the quality of the food and the dismissive attitude of the General Manager, Shawn.
I spent $40 on an order that was sub-standard in several ways:
Wings: Ordered dipped in Torch sauce; received completely dry/naked.
Cheese Bites: Received 10 pieces that were cold to the touch.
Shrimp: Served old, shriveled, and clearly past its hold time.
When I presented photo evidence to the General Manager, Shawn, I did not ask for a refund or free items; I simply wanted the order corrected. Instead of an apology, Shawn provided excuses, stating that the kitchen “cannot make food fresh” and condescendingly told me, “This isn’t Outback.”
As a customer, I expect the food I pay for to meet Zaxby’s brand standards regardless of the price point. Being treated like a liar and told not to expect fresh food is unacceptable. I am sharing this so that leadership is aware of how this location is being managed and how loyal guests are being treated.
I look forward to hearing how you intend to address this.

I didn’t know that I ordered off “the kids menu” when I asked for chicken tenders.
Chicken sizes unbelievably small, I got more french fries than I did chicken and the fries were warm and somehow stale!!! Honestly… not worth the $27. It’s sad how small family’s can’t even afford a decent meal without having quality control issues or portion issues nowadays even though all the meat is coming from the same corporate companies. Zaxby’s suck, I think they were getting worse than the McDonald’s. The food was not difficult to consume, and I was unable to locate any silverware or napkins.

If I could give this specific store less than one star I would. I Go to Zaxbys at least twice a week because of the salads and my 4 year old love the fries but on this day was one of my worst experiences and I’ve had a few with this location.
I ALWAYS order the Zenzation Zalad with ranch and wing and wings for my 1 year old and 4 year old to share, along with two loaded bacon’s fries for my two oldest girls with one having no ranch. I mean like clock work two or three times a week.
This specific day they put Zax sauce on our fries, gave me the wrong dressing for my salad, burnt the egg roll in my salad, salad was soggy, gave me two fries in our wing and wing… I mean the worst.
I kindly asked for my order to be correct and I come often so I would think that wouldn’t be an issue. I was told to move about the line and park. After the loaded fries was snatched out my hand and thrown in the garbage in front of me and my children in the car.
I then asked for a manager and a 18 year old girl came to the window (Sabrina ) with a smerk on her face, I explained to her the situation and she responded with @Well they said they’ll remake it so what the problem?!. I then asked for the next manager in command and another lady (Hope) came to the window claiming to be equal manager ( However a little nicer than the last two individuals that I encountered) and explained that there is no one higher than the both of them and that they are not a corporate store so the only way to get my voice heard on this issue would be to refer to the bottom of the receipt to a website for a survey.
I wasn’t offer a refund, I wasn’t offer maybe a 10% off

This was my favorite place to eat, but that’s no longer the case. Recently, my delivery orders have repeatedly been missing items, and it’s incredibly disappointing. How hard is it to read instructions on a screen or typed out on paper? I’m tired of paying for food and not receiving what I ordered.
Visiting the location isn’t any better. With only three or so cars in the drive-thru, it takes an excruciating 40+ minutes to get your food. The speaker volume is so low that you can barely hear the person taking your order. To top it off, the area around the drive-thru and the restaurant itself is filthy. The dining area is just as bad, with tables that aren’t cleaned and debris left behind. I’m done with this place.
It’s really disappointing to see such a great place turn to garbage.

My husband and I just left there. We ordered two meals with five piece tenders and fries and a regular size loaded fries with all that food coming up close to $40. We were only given two sauces when I asked if we can have another sauce. The one lady asked me did I want to exchange one or we can purchase one. I said no I would like another sauce I spent a decent amount of money. I have two meals averaging 10 piece chicken fingers and I only have two sauces to use that is ridiculous and then a guy manager came over and said something about price inflation of the sauces or whatever is going on with them but that doesn’t matter the point is we spent a lot of money. We have a lot of food and only have two sauces to use. Do better

Took my family there Saturday evening. Service was quick, staff friendly, food quality poor and disappointing. We ordered 3 big zax snack meals 3 tenders each. Food order came out quick. Chicken fingers were the size of small fingers and would say that maybe all 3 actually equal 1.5 regular size chicken fingers. Food was hot but when we bit into our tenders all were rubbery and greasy like they had been fried and then left out and then refried. All 3 meals were the same way. There was a line of people and we were just getting back in town from a trip and did not want to argue about the food. I have been going to Zaxbys for years and it makes me sad to see the quality of the food being served rapidly degrading. I hope that the right parties see this and really do some quality control on foods you are puchasing and cooking methods.

I called this location today to place an order for my company. The store assistants were extremely rude to me (Tarra) was the individual I spoke with who hung up in my face. Then I called back and asked to speak to the “general manager” who then proceeded to tell me I was basically lying about the incident. Then he eventually ended up hanging up in my face as well.
I was very displeased with their tone, and the back and forth on the phone. They continued to transfer me to multiple people and as you can tell I still was unable to place my catering order for my company.
I work for one of the biggest colleges in Polk County. I can assure you that me, my co-workers ( who also witnessed this phone in our office), and students will not be using this location for any of our catering needs.
If you are smart you wont either.
