I am writing to formally report an incident that occurred at one of your locations on [1/4/2026at approximately [3:50pm
After paying for my order, I asked the employee at the register to return my debit/credit card. The employee refused to give my card back. I clearly requested the return of my property, and there was no explanation provided that justified the refusal. This caused me distress and concern, as a customer should never have their personal financial property withheld without a lawful or clearly communicated reason.
I want to be clear that this was not a misunderstanding on my part — I explicitly asked for my card back, and the refusal was intentional. I should not have had to escalate or argue to regain possession of my own card.
This situation raises serious concerns regarding:
• Proper payment-handling procedures
• Customer property rights
• Employee training and compliance with card network rules
I am requesting:
1. A formal review of this incident
2. Confirmation of Zaxby’s policy regarding card retention
3. Assurance that employees at this location will be properly trained to prevent this from happening again
