Today was the first official day open and they actually opened on time at 10:30am. Management and staff workers were just as excited about today’s opening as we were. The wait was not long to get our food, and we ordered a lot of food. They had a lot of milk shake flavor options, we chose the cake batter flavor which was great next I will try the cookie! The chicken fingers were perfectly cooked, the fries were perfectly seasoned, coleslaw tasted fresh, fried pickles and the veggie egg rolls were to die for with ranch dressing and the sweet & sour sauce. Speaking of sauces we chose almost all of them and not one of them disappointed. They all had a unique flavor and none were so hot in zesty flavor that you couldn’t enjoy. Now truth be told I’m a saucy condiments lover so, I might be biased. Lol Now, my husband who uses little to no sauce went with the Cobb bacon and egg salad and he said it was amazingly good. Also, he’s a big guy and didn’t even finish it all. It was definitely a decent portion size. Could be split as a side salad for a family. Overall, for a family of 4 we spent a little over $50 and we ended up with leftovers to take home. Keep in mind we wanted to try a lot of foods since we love the one we go to when we see family down South. Overall, I can say it’s worth a drive to check our as I will be coming again. I certainly recommend if looking for a good meal different than the normal flavors our taste palate experience locally when it comes to to fast food.

The wife and I drove down from Jersey City for the opening day today because we LOVE Zaxbys! Everytime we go down south, we make sure we stop at a Zaxbys! We were so excited that one of our favorite chains are now up north so we had to visit. The food was up to par, the service was a bit chaotic, which we expected because it was the first day. The cashiers warned everyone that there would be a wait up to an hour possibly because of the demand. They asked us if we would like to come back and we wold them no, we will wait. Good thing we did wait because 20 minutes later, our names were called with our orders. One of the managers was so nice and accommodating. She made sure we had everything and made sure we were straight. I loved that. Nothing like a worker going above and beyond for the customer. The restaurant itself doesn’t give the Zaxbys feeling of the south but like I said it is the first day. We will for sure visit again when we are going down or up from the south. We have our fingers crossed that a Zaxbys will come up more futher north!

– The food was very tasty and the service was impeccable, given the circumstances. There has been numerous reviews that doesn’t acknowledge the service or hospitality of the workers and staff that serves in the establishment. This Zaxby’s is the first one on the east coast. The other closest location is in Virginia.
This is still very new. Please be patient, the food is really fresh
Recommendation : The owner should be at this location daily to help better serve the community, shake hands with the locals, and make the company feel warm and pleased.
Opinion : This is not a southern location that has Zaxby’s nor is it like any other chicken place so please do not compare as much. It is still very good!!

The line is a wait about 1 hour and 15-30 mins after for your food to be served.
There is kindness and consideration here please be humble and not stress the workers. It is very hard enough.
The staff here all had smiles even the kitchen workers. As someone from Memphis, TN this hospitality is very sure to be a thing to keep me coming back!

Ordered my food through GrubHub for lunch received my food no drink the sauce was not in the bag no napkins and burnt fries and burnt toast. Complete waste of money go to iffy’s or anywhere else. It was a waste of money. The last picture shows you the actual size of the tender. It’s smaller than a wingette.

If you think you’re slick by placing an online order and think you can beat the lines & wait you’ll be in for a rude awakening….
When you place your order it gives you an ETA… that ETA is when the order is actually sent to the restaurant…
So add an extra hour to that wait….
Drive through lines are excessive, sure you can order inside but it will take an hour.
From the App it lets you call the store, that phone number has been turned off (apparently they still using MagicJack)
Now if you call Zaxby’s customer service they will apologize and say unfortunately the location is a franchise location and they can’t cancel the order. They will raise a ticket to the franchise owner at their discretion they will refund.
The lines should cool down after about February, wanna order now??? You’ve been warned.

I normally do not like mentioning other companies in a review but…move over Canes! Zaxby’s is basically Canes on steroids. More options, more combinations and in most things better food.
I had the wings and things combo with a large sweet tea and also tried the cookie milkshake. Both drinks were huge! Especially the tea which was great. The cookie milkshake says only comes in small but if that was small I don’t want to see large (see pictures). The wings weren’t bad not great but not bad personally I prefer Checkers wings. The sauce smelled great (buffalo garlic). I love how seasoned their fries are I could eat them all day no condiment necessary. The chicken fingers were a bit small and salty to me but the Zax sauce helped dial that back a little. For those familiar with Canes I would say the sauces are similar with a subtle taste difference.
I went through the drive through and the wait was longer than your typical fast food spot but this place hasn’t been open even a month yet. They did forget my shake so make sure you check your order before pulling off. I went inside and the young lady gladly made me a new one no problem. The staff are extremely kind and helpful as I overheard the cashier walking patrons through the mention. I went yesterday and I am going to go back today to try the spicy chicken sandwich. I don’t know what made me search for a Zaxby’s as typically they are a down south restaurant but boy was I delighted yesterday to discover one has opened up, up north.

The food was good with no real complaints. It was pretty much what I expected from Zaxby’s, if not a little better. The only odd thing was the lobby lighting. Some of the lights on the left side were flickering, and the whole lobby felt very dim overall. I’ve been to several Zaxby’s before and I still prefer it over most of the competition, and this location does a good job representing the brand. I did have to wait over an hour, but since they just opened this week, that wasn’t too surprising. Still, I wouldn’t say the food is worth an hour long wait. Prices are fair and in line with similar places.

I first tried Zaxbys in Georgia and I was so excited that they were coming to the New Jersey Area! I loved Zaxbys for their signature sauce!!! The wait times are definitely long (its a new location obviously), but it was well worth it. I ordered the zalads and the chicken tenders which is my typical go to. It is very similar to the south stores and the taste is way better than Chick-Fil-A and Raising Canes by a mile. I look forward to returning in the near future. This is a must try!
