This place has been on the list for a bit and finally made it in. My previous attempt was foiled when they ran out of food but not so this time.

Parking is off street behind the building or you can find a street spot in the local neighborhood.

Very nice family running the place-the kids were present during the supper hours and we had very pleasant interactions with them all.

I had the pork shoulder. It was tender, moist and delicious. I’ll go back to try other options.

Between my friend and me, I believe we tried all the side dishes. He is vegetarian and none of the vegetable sides were safe on his plate nor did they last long. The fritters were delicious as was everything else.

Finished with banana pudding. One of the owners proudly showed a new bundt cake flavor they are testing out. It looked very good but sadly it wasn’t available.

Recommended, but if it’s getting to the end of the evening, especially on a weekend you should probably check to see what is still available.

A great southern restaurant with good portions well worth the money. I enjoyed the smoked chicken with miso green beans and glazed carrots. The meatloaf is also delicious as well as the corn fritters. The iced tea is perfect, not too sweet, not to tart.

The owners are super friendly and family oriented.

There are a couple of parking spaces in the back. The place is pretty small, but makes up for it with the wonderful welcoming experience and the delicious food. Deserts are great as well.

Zax Eat & Three absolutely blew us away.

The miso green beans were to die for, perfectly seasoned with that deep umami flavor that keeps you going back for just one more bite and then five more. The gochujang pork literally melted in my mouth, tender, rich, and packed with bold flavor without being overpowering.

The smoked chicken was unbelievably juicy and fresh. You can taste the care in every bite, smoky, tender, and cooked to perfection.

The slaw was so unique and refreshing, not your typical side at all. And the house made pickles were crisp, bright, and the perfect balance of tang and crunch.

The cornbread fritters were absolutely next level. Crispy on the outside, soft and flavorful on the inside, unlike anything I’ve had before.

And that Alabama white sauce… wow. Creamy, tangy, perfectly balanced, so good you will want to put it on everything or honestly just eat it with a spoon.

What truly sets Zax Eat & Three apart though is the incredible staff and owners. You can feel the passion and pride they have for what they’re creating. They are welcoming, genuine, and make you feel like family the moment you walk in. The warmth and hospitality match the quality of the food, which makes the entire experience unforgettable.

Every single item tasted intentional, fresh, and crafted with love. Zax Eat & Three is the real deal. 10 out of 10 recommend. I will definitely be back.

Small business with great food, portions, and hospitality. I tried their half chicken and it was perfectly cooked topped with an excellent white sauce. All of their side were amazing, with the green beans and cornbread fritter being outstanding. The restaurant is run by a cheerful and bright family. Owners are accessible by phone and text if you’re interested in picking up, or bringing a bigger party to dine in. As any mom and pop shops, please be patient and mindful, 100% worth checking out!

good times
A very small restaurant seating for approximately 12 people. It looks to me like a more of a takeout, but if you can find the seat you can eat in the restaurant.

The service is very good a mom and Pop joint where everybody was very friendly

There is parking in the back

Now the food was awesome!! I had a meatloaf sandwich with the green beans side, but I also tried to pull pork and the chicken sandwich in the potato salad. Everything was spot on and the prices were fantastic. Was the first time in a while I felt like I was charged the right price for food.

This is definitely a return spot .

Don’t often leave reviews but this place deserves it. Delicious food! Very cheap for Seattle, and big portions. I got the 1/2 BBQ chicken with 2 sides for only $14.95, and couldn’t finish it, I took half the chicken for later. The sides were super good, I got the Honey Miso Green Beans and Cornbread Fritters, both were delightful. The owners are also super friendly and kind. I asked if they ever sell sweet tea, and the owner whipped out some from the back and gave me a free cup! And they gave me extra sauce for my leftovers. Not to mention they have free essentials available for those less fortunate. 10/10.

Small space, but they have some cute art and good music playing. Not suitable for a large group.

Note the in-store menu says $17.95, which is 1 meat and 3 sides. However you can get it with only 2 sides for $14.95.

Such a great find! And almost everything is gluten-free. We enjoyed two Meat n Threes—smoked chicken, green beans, corn fritters, and rosemary butter beans; and meat loaf, griddled potato salad, corn fritters and Cole slaw. All was flavorful, moist , unique spicing. Especially loved the meatloaf and its sauce, green beans, and fritters. Please support this new business! I will be back next time I’m in town.

This place is amazing.
First: Authentic southern food from authentic southern folk. The food is made with such care that you can feel the love in it. The mains and the sides are so varied from each other that your tastebuds are constantly at attention. The balance of flavors is fine tuned and clearly created by experienced, knowing hands.
Second: the owners are as undeniably genuine as their menu. Friendly, open, excited about their food. I enjoyed meeting and supporting them.
Third: this is the kind of place I wish could do well scaled up. That being said, their location is tiny and you might want to have a backup plan in place for where to eat your food if they’re busy.

If this place doesn’t go crazy and make these people happy and wealthy off their labor, I’ll seriously question whether Seattle deserves such treasures. Please try this place!

This was my sadly only my second visit here as I live far away but dang everything was just as delicious as the first time! We had the smoked chicken again, it was better than I remembered! The sides are all very unique and flavorful. The banana pudding tres leches was the best part, thank yall for that!

This place is the real deal! You can tell they take care to pick quality ingredients, and pretty much everything is house made, fresh, and from crafted recipes. Very reasonable prices for how solid the portions are. And the staff are very hospitable and kind. I’m excited to try more of the menu when I come back!!
