Too bad I can’t give half stars because this is really a 4.5 star in my opinion. I got the Pad Thai, while it wasn’t awe inspiring it was still really, really good. Hubby got Pad See Ew which was equally good. Next time I’m in The Woodlands and in the mood for Thai I know excatly where I’m going. And FYI we were there around 2:30. I’m assuming the people who had issues at that time were the only customers in the restaurant.

Invited here by friends and very glad to now know about this place. The food is delicious, the prices are reasonable, and the wait staff is on point. I ordered Chicken Curry that was delicious. Also, try the Thai Tea.

Very pleased with our Thai experience here. The restaurant has a very pleasant and quiet atmosphere. Lighting is fairly low but enough to read. The staff is very friendly and courteous. The food was excellent! We really enjoyed an herbal chicken appetizer. For dinner, I had the Rama Long song beef (hot level 4) which is a peanut sauce based dish and my wife had the yellow curry (mild heat). Both excellent!

Everything was mediocre. The shrimp dish was raw. Sent it back and it came back to the table exactly the same raw. Never again.

We had dinner here with friends for their birthday being this friend had grown up in Thailand. I was surprised more people were not in the restaurant. The food was good, the service excellent, and we will be back. It is a dated interior but don’t let that stop you from enjoying their food. It was a positive experience.

Definitely worth checking out. Customer service is phenomenal, food tastes quite delightful, atmosphere is calm and peaceful.. What more would you like out of an eatery? Oh, totally forgot to mention, it’s CLEAN!! Like, seriously. Tables are spotless and re-decorated shortly after guests leave. Ohh!! And the food presentation is amazing as well.
Sorry this review is a bit scattered… Just provided my honest review as it came to me. Not wasting any time reorganizing my thoughts…. Time to eat!

My family and I have been going to Thai restaurants for years, and thought to go to this classy looking place. We ordered Thai tea, garlic pork, and red curry. These are the three main things we order to compare every Thai restaurants we go to.
Cleanliness, ambiance, service, and plating are not included as part of the rating because these were of acceptable quality. But out of all those things food quality is the most important to my family and I.
There are quite a few places in Thailand that look very humble but serve incredible food. Having all of this in mind, including the taste of real Thai food, we decided to give Zato a try.
The vegetables did not taste fresh at all and the cut was the same as the packaged grocery store frozen lettuce. (Green bell pepper did look hand chopped) The pork on the garlic pork and red curry was very chewy. Garlic pork barely tasted like garlic for Thai standards and the sauce was very watery. The red curry to coconut milk ratio was too high: way too much coconut milk. The rice was not light and fluffy. It was dense and looked reheated. The Thai tea had too much milk, therefore making it taste too sweet.
I was not going to write a review because I only like writing positive highlights on great restaurants. However, at the end of the visit, my husband’s stomach was not feeling well. He, unfortunately, threw up in a bucket when we got home.
We will not be coming back as we don’t think the food was fresh enough or had a traditional taste.
As a side note, I advice you not to store consumable items right by the women’s restoom, and the sink needs caulking.
Waitress did not ask if the food was good at all.

This place is great. Recently came here after coming here a few years prior, and it is better than I remember. The fried chicken rice and something called Bataba stole the show. The pad Thai was fine, and the curry was great. The papaya salad was also great, but be careful on the level of spice. I will definitely come back next time I am in town. If you feel like all Thai places are the same come here and try something you haven’t seen at other places. I think you will be surprised.

Wow… Great Thai food! Nice and spicy. Pad Kee Mao was awesome! Tell the waitress how spicy you’d like and they make it how you request it. I try to get by here once or twice a week. Any had a bad meal. Everyone here is nice and friendly!!!

Went to Zato Thai in the Woodlands for the first time last Saturday with my wife and daughter and we really enjoyed the experience. Ordered curry puffs and Tom Yum Goong for appetizer to go with Red Curry (chicken), and Thai BBQ chicken. The food was delicious and reasonably-priced too. We are excited to have a quality Thai restaurant so close to our home. Highly recommended.
