I’m so pissed off right now. What a disgrace to Politos which was an amazing place. The pizza was thick and crusty and the flavor was not good. Garlic knots were the same. It’s also so expensive! $21 for two slices, two drinks, and garlic knots.
The worst part was that the guy serving pizza was watching us (in person or on the cameras). He stopped by one time and asked if my pizza was burnt. I said no whatever it’s fine (it wasnt I was just trying to be nice). Then he stopped by a second time when I was done eating and said the same thing and I got pissed off and told him, “why are you watching us eat?”. This is how I knew they were watching me. ABSOLUTELY AVOID THIS PLACE. I am seriously so disgusted.
Update after their response: What that actual heck?? You think I’m on drugs?? What the heck is wrong with you?????? I was trying to have a nice dinner with my wife on our anniversary at a nice pizza restaurant. The food was so bad and all you did was keep bothering us about it. Look at how many reviews I do, I am a sober freaking person who does honest reviews. Your restaurant is disgusting, as an owner I feel SO BAD for you that you can’t take a constructive review, and you ruined what was supposed to be a good night. Unfortunately a lot of food at kwik trip tastes a lot better than your food. You will be getting a call about this and I expect an apology and a full refund for this entire meal. I’m on drugs…really???. That’s absurd you would say that. I never asked for the pizza to be crispy and I didn’t care. The flavor was awful. I said the first time I didn’t want a new one and he still came back and pestered us. I’m pissed about the price because what used to be there was half the price for much better food. Get your act together.

Food gets 1 star. Im so upset they changed their mac and cheese pizza. They put Kraft Mac and cheese on it now. Before it was amazing. They use to use elbow noodles. Tastes very different. Very disappointing now. Sad.

Basically still Politos, but more dressed up inside. Prices are higher, but it’s a better experience too. Very similar pizzas, but with a different crust.
UPDATE: not sure if they are still in business… Been there many times in recent weeks during posted hours, but they are closed, and all the lights are off Disappointed. Last time I was there while they were open, someone said they could not find staff, but that is no excuse. The owners should work all posted hours and be open, or, change the hours to when you ARE open.

I normally order through doordash, but received the wrong order. I called the store and it sounded like I was speaking with a manager, he noticed my concerns right away and went out of his way to deliver my pizza personally. I absolutely love their hot-honey pepperoni and it’s really the only place in town who offers it, that I know of. Working with doordash to refund my tip, thank you to the person who delivered my correct order.

Remodel looks great but the sauce on the pizza was very sweet. Also the pizza slices in the window had very few toppings on them. Please don’t skimp on toppings – I will visit again and change my review if this improves.

My husband and I love everything about Za’s pizza! We ordered 20″ pizzas every time we go. The environment is excellent and the day manger gave great service and was very chill. 100% best pizza place in Mankato.

I wanted to like Za’s but unfortunately it was subpar at best. I got a 14″ pizza and it tasted… fine. Like it wasn’t bad, but it really wasn’t great either. And while they claim to be NY Style crust it doesn’t really hold up to that promise with average sized slices that are drowning in way too much mozzarella. The worst part about the whole operation that I found out once I got there to pick up the pizza, and then looked at their online presence, is that a ton of their ads and artwork even on their window is AI generated imagery, which is unfortunate to see (no shortage of real artists in Mankato you can source art from!).
I know that with this location the true purpose of this pizza is to provide a late night slice to drunk people, and for that it may hit its mark, but otherwise there are much better options around.

Overall the pizza is ok, but for the price there are plenty of other options in Mankato, and one half a block down. The pizza is surprisingly generic, but with a sweeter sauce and a thick, chewy crust. The garlic knots were burnt and dry. The Mediterranean is full of flavor, and the chicken is pleasantly smoky.
