I used to come here a lot in the 90s, and I remember it being absolutely awesome. Today, not so much. The pork burnt ends and the chicken tasted like cat food, and the sauce is glorified ketchup, which ruined the beans.

Ordered the variety plate, 6 meats & two sides, to eat with my wife. It was a good value, but low on flavor from either rub or smoke. Zarda seems to rely on flavor from sauce, nine now as we were told. The meats: the chicken was the best for balance between flavor and moisture, the ribs were very moist and meaty, the pulled pork was super dry and flavorless, the sausage and brisket we’re sliced super thin as one might have them for a sandwich, but did not work for the platter as I would have liked, and finally there was a mystery meat, possibly pork chunks, nothing like burnt ends. Everything had sauce slathered all over it, which is disappointing to me because it always seems like a crutch to cover disappointing flavor.

The LTD burn ends tasted good, and the potato salad. The amount of burn ends were kinda small. The cheesy corn didn’t taste that great. We were there on Dec.28th at lunch time, but there were not many people. Not entirely sure if most people would be at work or at break at that time. This is the type of restaurant that you wouldn’t regret or impress trying, I guess.

Nice restaurant and the food was very nice. We had the Saturday special Meat Platter which consists of Beef, Ham, Slab of ribs, Sliced Sausage, bread, and 4 classic sides. Could not understand why there were 7 ribs for a meal that serves 4 according to the menu. The math was wrong. Staff were nonchalant about explaining anything. We then realized that it was self serve so they basically did not do much. Pretty impersonal interaction even for a self serve in the services industry. The food was good so I guess the staff is not important… just warm bodies to take your order, payment and bring it from the kitchen window. They got treated likewise I may add. Sad for the cooks as they do a good job but front staff undo what they have done.

Spectacular facility and staff to start off! The brisket was some of the leanest BBQ I’ve eaten in KC in years! We were excited about the quality of the food, but, not about the price! A sandwich and beans averaged $22.00 let person’s meal! Sticker shock like buying a new vehicle! It’s been years since I’ve visited a Zarda and I quickly realized why…. their sauce is “less than adequate!” I’m not a fan, but, you decide on your own…. not all KC BBQ is to die for! We were extremely impressed by their Covid Procedures to keep everybody healthy and safe, from the time you walk thru the door, until the time you leave! Well done!

Oh, where do I even start with this BBQ wonderland?! My taste buds went on a wild rodeo, and I swear my stomach did the two-step dance of happiness! The meat melted like butter, the sauces had a party in my mouth, and the sides were like little supporting actors stealing the show! The staff was a bunch of friendly grillmasters who knew their BBQ game inside out. The ambiance? Well, let’s just say it’s so cozy that even the pickles were hugging each other! I left with a food coma and a smile the size of Texas. If you miss this place, you’ll be more disappointed than a vegetarian at a rib cook-off! Yee-haw, I’ll be back for more finger-lickin’ goodness!

Worst experience ever. I own a business and the young lady that was behind the counter had the meanest attitude I have ever seen in my life. I don’t know if being black was the problem but my goodness I felt ashamed in front of my family and hurt. She didn’t want to be there and it showed on her face. Love me some Zarda ribs and burnt ends! Great selection of sandwiches and sauces. Best cheesy corn, I’ve tasted in the city! The wedges and burnt end beans are also scrumptious! Give Zarda a try and enjoy the morsels you put on your fork!

Been here numerous times. Not a “knock it out of the park” place, but still decent Q. I only get a sandwich here, but I absolutely love their fries. It’s a decent place for a quick fix of bbq.
