My father, my wife and I were hoping for Persian food and settled for Zara Mediterranean, so we were very pleased to arrive and find a small Persian market and Persian menu. We each had lamb kebabs with hummus and wonderful eggplant dip, capping off the meal with homemade baklava and pistachio cream cake.
The lamb was tender and delicately spiced. I expected the eggplant dip to be essentially baba ganoush but it was very different – warm and tangy with complex flavors. The pistachio cake was delicious, as was the baklava, which I was pleased to see was not swimming in sugar syrup.
The dining space is spotlessly clean and functional, if a bit charmless. Zara is a gem stuck in a West Emd shopping center. Highly recommend.

My father in law who lives in a retirement home asked for Persian food and somehow we stumbled across Zara. He was quite pleased, as we all were, and he commenced to tell us stories of his travels to Iran to help set up telecommunications networks in the 1960s.
The lamb was so tender and deeply flavored and we were all glad we ordered it. We also enjoyed the hummus and eggplant sides. And the meal was finished off with oh so delicious pistachio cake.
Don’t miss out on this gem!

We went here for lunch on a Monday, around 2 pm. Each had one of their lunch specials. The Greek salad with chicken skewer was delicious. The gyro combo was another great choice and they allowed me to substitute a house salad for the standard fries. The lunch specials come with a drink, too. Overall, the food was fresh, hot, and tasty. The service was quick and friendly, and the atmosphere was acceptable.

The food and atmosphere were excellent! The kebab was cooked perfectly—still juicy and not dry, which I really enjoyed! I will definitely come back again.

I had a very unpleasant experience at this restaurant. I found a hair in my food, which is completely unacceptable and shows a serious lack of hygiene. What makes this situation even more concerning is that I was dining with children under 18 years old. Thankfully, the children did not eat the food, but this could have been a serious health issue.
Food safety and cleanliness are extremely important, especially when children are present. This restaurant clearly needs to pay much more attention to hygiene standards. Unfortunately, because of this experience, I do not feel comfortable returning or recommending this place to others.

The Food: I went with the “Trio” for my meal here. I sat down for this meal and my plate came out well presented. The meats were cooked very nicely. Each one was very tender and flavorful. It was a nice, fresh Mediterranean meal.
The Service: Service was good. The owner was nice and welcoming when you walk in. The food came out in a timely manner as well.
The Atmosphere: Nice and clean restaurant. Plenty of tables and booths to sit at.
Overall, a 5/5. Enjoyed the delicious food here, I would definitely recommend giving Zara’s a try.

I’m so glad I followed my first mind. The food is amazing. No, seriously. Fresh ingredients, with a warm side of “cozy”– My Honey and I decided this is our date night spot when ever I’m in town.

I love this place. If you’re looking for a starting point, the chicken kabob w rice is light and wonderfully seasoned. My favorite thing is lamb gyro. If you have a picky eater, they have cheeseburger and chicken tenders. And the soups! It has a very unpretentious family owned vibe. My husband goes here every week. We are big fans.

First time eating at this restaurant. It was wonderful. A hidden gem I highly recommend. The price was right. The meal was freshly prepared and arrived at the table hot. Steak and chicken kabobs were very good and moist. Not over cooked. We are looking forward to our next visit.
