Just ate here for the first time. Good food, good people, good service. They built a beautiful brand new building and it is really nice inside. I got the chicken cream chop dinner. Cooked excellent. My nephew got the chicken Shawarma and he devoured it within two minutes (big eater). If you’re in the Commerce area, check them out.

I love Mediterranean and Middle Eastern food. This is a new restaurant and my first visit as a carryout customer. My order was 3x chicken shawarma sandwiches, hummus (L) , tabouli (S) and fries for 3x people ($21 per person).
The food was delicious, but lacked the “zing” that I’m familiar with – possibly the toppings were more basic than I am familiar with. The quality and packaging was great.

The fully renovated restaurant is amazing, just look at the photos. Everything is new and modern and well designed. There isn’t much privacy though, so expect an open concept dining experience.

The staff is very friendly and certainly above par for all of the local competition.

I will definitely return.

Where do I start?! This place looks amazing, from the signs outside, to the entry and setup inside. The chairs for seating look fancier than expensive restaurants. The decor is stunning.

However, I went to enjoy some delicious middle eastern food and that’s exactly what I did. The portions were generous and everything was so flavorful. It felt like just a few short minutes after ordering that the food was at the table. Delivered with a smile and kindness, as if you’re family. Who would I recommend go here? The better question is who wouldn’t I recommend going here!

I’d call it a hidden gem, but they’re already so busy and being visible, right on Maple, you can’t miss it if you’re driving past.

Was very excited to try this restaurant as it’s close to home and I love Mediterranean food. Starting with the positives, the inside is definitely beautiful and clean. It is a newly renovated place after all. We went in mid week close to noon and were the only 2 there at the time. Ordered a small fattoush, chicken shawarma sandwich and chicken kabob sandwich. The fattoush came out really quickly and was a beautiful, fresh looking plate. Definitely needed salt, lemon, garlic and sumac. It did have an issue though which I won’t mention and we brought it to the waiters attention and showed him what we were talking about. All he said was “sorry about that”. I understand mistakes can happen and we weren’t as upset as others may have been in a similar situation but it really didn’t make us feel better at all. The sandwiches were both delicious as was the curried pickle garnish along with their presentation.

We went up to pay at the register and to our surprise, we were charged for the fattoush. I guess we were expecting it to be taken off our bill since we ended up not eating it and that was disappointing. We didn’t mention anything though and paid the full bill. There is a 3% charge if you pay with a credit card. It is waived if you pay cash. We paid $35 for two sandwiches basically. No fries with sandwich.

I truly was hoping to love this place but I’m not quite sure how I feel. It’s not really about the $9 for the fattoush. I just thought given our experience, it would have been standard that the management would have at least taken the cost of that off our bill.

The food at Zara eatery is absolutely fantastic. Super delicious fish we ordered and brought home. They took great care of me and made sure to give me a beautiful tray full of rice with the fish on top. The chef salad is absolutely delicious as well. Thank you Zara Eatery. I will definitely be back.

3/5 Zara Eatery isn’t the average restaurant in Walled Lake – you can see how beautiful the interior is when driving past. As for the food, it was good, but nothing special. The chicken shawarma itself was tender like I expected. The grilled vegetables that were thrown in there were just for show since the carrots tasted as if they weren’t even thrown on the grill. For the price, you can get better food elsewhere. My husband liked his sandwiches so go with that over the platter.

Stopped to checkout the menu. Currently only carryout. The shawarma sandwiches were the best we have had in quite some time. Lots of tasty filling. Baba ghanoush and hummus also very good. Try this place. I think you’ll be happy.

What a gem!
This was our first visit to Zara Eatery, and it instantly became one of our favorite spots for Middle Eastern food. We’ve tried plenty of restaurants in the area—many of them excellent—but this one truly stands out.

The menu has all the classics you’d expect, yet every dish tastes just a little better—whether it’s a more authentic flavor or a subtle twist that elevates it beyond the rest. The interior has been completely redone and looks beautiful, modern, and welcoming.

The staff couldn’t have been friendlier, and the entire experience just felt right from start to finish. I really hope they keep this same energy going because this place is something special.

After 15 years in Michigan I can finally say I found the best Mediterranean food! Ordered the combo for 5 and I gotta say it was enough to feed 10 for a really good price (realllly good!) the meat was fresh and tasty, the chicken was magical and the rice and borghol were fantastic! Came with a salad and the salad was delicious! Simply perfect!!

The interior of the place is so nice and modern and very classy, staff very welcoming and friendly and you can tell the food is made with love.

Will be returning soon to enjoy more of their delicious food! HIGHLY recommend
