My home town had a place named Zapata’s when I was a kid. I asked the staff if this place may be related, but I think it’s just coincidence because of Zapata’s history.
Regardless, this place did not disappoint. Classic Mexican American cantina vibes and flavors. The chips and queso with salsa was classic and complimentary with dinner, very good. The sides were hot and fresh, the beer ice cold, and the entrees were delicious. My husband said it’s his new favorite Mexican spot.

A super friendly young lady took my to go order on 1/5/26 around 5 pm .. Food was alright i especially liked the tortilla chips and sauce given as a appetizer (Nice touch) and the toppings for my sopes were plentiful and fresh. Ty for I your awesome service yong lady. Receipt says Bernice:)

Good Mexican food restaurant. I had the taco lunch special, and I enjoyed it. The tacos were crunchy and greasy, but not too greasy. The shells didn’t get soggy like a lot of places. Lots of cheese, lettuce, and tomatoes. I’m not a fan of refried beans. So I double rice instead. The rice is good. It reminds me of El Chicos. The service was good. My waiter was friendly. The girl at the counter could have been a little nicer, but she wasn’t really mean. Just seemed ready to get off work. The have a large projector screen on the back wall. So it was cool to watch some soccer for lunch. I’ll definitely go back.

3-16-24 I’m editing today. I’m not sure if they are under new management, but today, the food wasn’t up to par. The fajita chicken was good in my salad, but there was barely any cheese in it and no beans. Pretty disappointing. The guacamole had no taste, and the queso was bland, as well. The salsa was really good.

The guy made a phenomenal michelada. And they weren’t too bad on price either.
However I ordered the cocktail and it clearly says it has oysters and shrimp and when they brought it out. It didn’t have oysters. If your dish is missing one of the key ingredients in it then you have to tell the customer… I ate a little through it and poked around and couldn’t find any. The waiter kind of left me alone for a while and I was waiting on him It was probably 10 or 15 minutes or so or the table that had an empty glass on it as well before he finally got back to the table and I asked him about it and he said yeah we don’t have oysters…. I expect my tab to have been altered but it wasn’t. I specifically ordered it for raw oysters so it was pretty disappointing. He could have at least comped me for one of the beers or something to make up for it but instead I still ended up paying over $30 for two beers and a cocktail with about six shrimp in it. It had more cut up vegetables than avocado than anything. Because the michelada was so good I will be back and try something else again and maybe I’ll change my review. Wouldn’t mind a coupon either because I really don’t feel like I should have paid full price for half a meal.

Came back and tried the fajita nachos. They were better than Chelinos and Sannarcos by a long shot. Well seasoned meat. And the michelada were on point again. The male server makes them phenomenally.

“Liked” You get sit anywhere you wish. Set up is delicious, chips cooked to perfection, cheese sauce thick and yummy, both salsas were delish. Fresh tortillas… Beef fajitas were a bit chewy and unseasoned. If you get fajitas, there’s a 1 time serving for your fajitas… We asked to get some more flour tortillas to go with our meal and she charged extra for that. Had we known that unlimited was not acceptable here, it wouldn’t look like a “wow” moment when we looked at our bill. Waitress pleasant.

Wonderful restaurant with a welcoming vibe. The food was quickly served and delicious. The friendly service was quick to ensure you left with a full belly and a warm smile. Definitely I must visit. My $20-30 is based on several of the Margaritas that complement the dishes perfectly.

Walking into Zapatas brought back memories of several family-owned Mexican restaurants I visit when touring south of the U.S. border.
I loved the music and colorful interior that greeted us and the selection of queso and salsas did a great job at whetting our appetite for the meal to come.
The portions were generous and I was not disappointed with my Chicken Taco Soup which came with a side of rice. The aromas and flavors of the food were spot on and our meal to wrap up the evening hit a spot.
Looking forward to my next visit for the drink offerings.
