Sandra was our server and she was so funny and nice! We went there relatively early Saturday dinner. We ordered Fried Green Tomatoes, Soul Rolls, Catfish, Salmon Croquettes, and Sweet Potato Pie with ice cream. Overall food was good and service was smooth. My only complaint was Salmon Croquettes which tasted good but were not hot. They were barely warm even though the plate was hot. I should have asked to take them back.

My dad and I came here for the first time last week. Amazing food. Never had turkey chops and they blew me away. The iced is very sweet but with a little water it was delicious.

Tasty southern food. Arnold Palmer off the charts!! Got charge 18% for tip and was told that it could not be removed. I paid my bill but would not go back.

Me and my spouse came here on a busy Friday night , we waited about 10 minutes to be seated and were greeting very quickly by our waitress. She was kind and sweet and the food here was delectable. 10/10 for everything I had . Nice big servings and a very friendly and calm atmosphere. Only complaint I have is that the corn had okra in it which is kind of unnecessary. Other than that the food was good as so was the service !

I’m not sure what happened to this place but it’s a long way down from 6 years ago. My daughter took me here for mother’s day and we originally went to the downtown location first. I had never been..it was not busy and was not crowded the waiter came to seat us but he didn’t seat us, he pointed to the corner booth and said over there and didn’t say anything else. We sat ourselves, the menu was paper and should have been thrown away with food and liquid stains on it. We didn’t stay because they were not serving the dish we came for. We were told the Shaker location is serving it, so why have it on the menu here? We went to the Shaker location and my daughter’s chicken was not done inside and sent it back and the second time was worse bleeding ….we were done and didn’t want anything replaced. Her meal was taken off the bill but the manager never came over either time he was right there when both times it was returned. I was given my dessert in a to-go box even though we were still eating and it was ice cream. I never indicated I wanted a box to go! By the way they didn’t have the dish either the collard greens and artichoke dip! If I could give no stars I would and it’s unfortunate.

My first time there, atmosphere was ok, I ordered the Shrimp and Grits and it was really good. Also the koolaid mix was good but way too sweet. The only problem was the music for customers was clashing with the music the cooks were playing in the back, which was also too loud. So therefore i could only give 4 stars. I will be back to other locations because there are so many other dishes I want to try. Oh and the muffins was on point too!

The food was very good, although I wish the cornbread muffins tasted more fresh. One thing that made me not want to come back to this restaurant is that it DOES NOT accommodate children. Me and my family were looking forward to dining here but they do not have a kids menu or even kids cups for their drink. My children had to drink out of glass coffee mugs. I understand they are trying to achieve a certain aesthetic but it is a restaurant and I don’t understand why they wouldn’t offer anything for families with children who want to enjoy and support a black business. Hopefully they can make changes in the future to accommodate everyone.
