This place is unbelievably cool. The food alone is something to write home about — and definitely worth leaving a Google review for.
All night long, I kept hearing about the Gouda burger with jalapeño jelly. I’ve had it before, and it truly lives up to the hype. The bun, the burger, the jelly — the whole experience is incredible. Worth every delicious speck left behind.
While bellied up at the bar, flipping through one of the coolest menus I’ve ever seen (it’s inside a record album), when my friend, garlic and parmesan still in his beard — shouted, “Get the Gouda burger. It’s the best I’ve ever had.”
But I went with the quesadilla instead… and I definitely should have skipped the tots. That thing was massive. And absolutely delicious. And the amount of cheese is more than satisfying.
The music venue inside is one of my favorite parts. It’s intimate without feeling cramped, the sound quality is great, and the transitions between bands were smooth and right on schedule. You can tell the team works hard to keep everything running seamlessly.
Between the pinball machines, the decor, and the overall atmosphere, the whole place has an incredible energy. Great vibe, great service, and it truly feels like you’ve stepped into somewhere unique.
Highly recommend this spot — for the food and for the fun. And if you’re there, be sure to say hello to Antz. He’ll be glad to hear how good that burger really is.

I went here for a concert I found on this website called do502 (if you don’t know now ya know). The venue was a little crowded as far as space but it wouldn’t have been as great if it wasn’t. Very organized but down to earth staff. Oh, they have video games. like an arcade, that was cool! Nice little eatery that opened up to a quaint little music venue. I dig it and will go back for more cool things or just to eat and play games! Diamond in the rough!

Great bar for the middle aged crowd. Super-friendly staff, great food, excellent beer selection with lots of local brews. Has a large outdoor seating area with a nice view of the street and part of the outdoor area has seating and tables where smokers can hang. The local ballgame was on. There was an excellent band with a great sound guy. If you’re from Louisville or just visiting. I give Zanzabar 100% endorsement.

This was a fun place that has a side room with arcade games, a main bar area, and 2 patio seating areas with my favorite being along the street. If you are feeling brave, I recommend step outside onto their street patio and pull up a chair facing the road. Then take a drink each time a car doesn’t stop at the stop sign. You will fly through your drink and have lots of laughs. Beer was nice and cold.

This place has been around for a long time serving cold drinks and pub food. I just went for the experience and a drink. It’s a cool bar with a nice patio and some cool, old school pinball machines. The service was attentive and friendly. They have live music too if that’s your thing. Regardless, it’s definitely worth checking out.

Staff were awesome and quick to check people in for the event. Awesome little venue to come to see some smaller artist! Loved coming out to see MICO!

Went as a group for a musical venue, we all had a good time. Staff at the entrance were cool and friendly. Our drinks were good. Food was absolutely delicious, definitely try some of their food if you go. Sound systems for the music were good. Only complaint is that the women’s restroom was difficult for me to use (disabled), my other female party member mentioned that it was difficult for her to comfortably use too though. Our male party members said their restrooms were comfortable and they had fun “aim games” for the men lol. So yeah only complaint is that the women’s restroom was boring compared to the men’s and tiny stalls. We’ll be back here some day for sure, had an overall great time.

First time at Zanzibar. It’s a pretty cool place. All the cool retro decor and pinball machines are pretty dope! Music space is a nice, intimate venue. We saw the amazing Kindred Valley! Parking could be a challenge on a busy night. Definitely recommend!

Fun place for great local and regional music and good bar food. I wish they had more seats in the concert area. The place was packed on Saturday and as a person in his 60’s my back can’t take standing for 3hrs! We even came early to take advantage of the few seats available but they were somehow already all taken. We ended up sitting in a booth outside the concert area to ease my back pain.
