Reviews
The food was absolutely outstanding. Every dish was rich in authentic flavors, especially the coastal curries and seafood preparations. The spices were perfectly balanced, and the presentation was impressive. The freshness of the ingredients was clearly noticeable in every bite.
What I loved most was the consistency in taste and quality. The portion sizes were generous, and the overall dining experience felt premium yet comforting. If you enjoy South Indian coastal cuisine with a touch of elegance, Zambar is definitely a must-visit. I would highly recommend it and can’t wait to go back again! ⭐ ️
One of the best things about Zambar is its wide variety of dishes, especially seafood and traditional meals. Dishes like fish curry, Malabar parotta, appam, and Chettinad chicken are extremely delicious and well prepared. The spices and ingredients are balanced perfectly, giving a true South Indian taste.
The staff is friendly and helpful, and the presentation of food is also impressive. The ambience makes it a great place for family dinners or casual outings with friends. Although the prices are slightly on the higher side, the quality of food and overall experience make it worth it.
Overall, Zambar is a great choice if you want to enjoy authentic South Indian coastal flavors in a stylish and comfortable setting.
There was another occupied table by the time I got there, but they left soon, after which I was the only remaining customer in the restaurant. This was before the dinner time rush, so I thought I’d get to experience a quick and attentive service.
Ordered ghee roast king fish, with buttermilk and butter roast appams.
The service was slow. Even with me being the only customer in the whole restaurant, the staff seemed lost.
The fish was burnt and dry. Just bad. Very bad.
The butter appams was delicious, but got eclipsed by how bad the fish was.
Buttermilk was fine.
Never visiting again.
Masala and fish both are delicious staff are also good,
Recommended for who want to taste South food you’ll be love this food.
Service is slow even when I asked bill it’s take more then 5 minutes.
I have repeatedly been here for almost 10 times.
Everytime its a wonderful experience.
Chicken Chettinad with Flaky Malabar Parotta is a must try here
We also tried dosa once which was also good.
A bit expensive but worth paying for all the dishes here.
In drinks we had santari banta masala and guava lemonade (something like this) which was also wonderful.
Whenever you want to eat something nice, you can definitely visit this spot.
The staff is also super polite here.
The service is quick so don’t have to wait much for the food or repeat breads.
I visited Zambar hoping to enjoy an authentic South Indian meal, as the menu offers a wide and appealing selection. Unfortunately, the quality of the food preparation was extremely poor and deeply disappointing.
I ordered the Chettinadu Veg Curry, Chicken Ghee Roast, and Malabar Parotta. The primary issue across all dishes was the complete lack of freshness and authentic preparation.
Major Concerns:
Frozen Ingredients: The Malabar Parotta was clearly a frozen product, not freshly prepared. This immediately compromised the texture and quality of a staple dish.
Ready-Made Curries (Masala Retort): Both the curries tasted as if they were prepared using a ready-made, pre-packaged masala base. This approach sacrifices the deep, complex flavors that define authentic South Indian cuisine.
Compromised Authenticity: The essence of good, regional Indian food lies in a skilled chef preparing fresh masalas and ingredients. A restaurant cannot sell high-quality ethnic cuisine without preparing the food from scratch. The reliance on shortcuts undermines the entire concept of authenticity they claim to offer.
In Conclusion:
I was very disappointed. If a restaurant purports to offer authentic South Indian cuisine, it must ensure the food is prepared freshly by skilled chefs. Selling dishes made from frozen bread and ready-made curry paste is unacceptable and fails to deliver the promised culinary experience.
