Zait & Zaatar is hands-down the best Lebanese spot in Anaheim! Stopped by for lunch and it was packed with a lively crowd, which made the experience even better. Every dish we tried was outstanding – fresh ingredients, bold flavors, and pure authenticity.
Standouts from our meal:
– Cheese & Zaatar Combo: Simple yet exploding with flavor.
– Shrimp Pizza: So creative and delicious, the shrimp was perfectly cooked.
– Combo Shawarma Plate: Juicy, well-seasoned shawarma with amazing garlic sauce and sides.
– Lebanese Araya (with kafta): Rich, hearty, and made with care.
Everything tasted homemade and high-quality. The staff was super welcoming, and the vibe is energetic and family-friendly. Worth every penny – this place is a gem! Will definitely be returning soon.

We came to Zait & Za’atar Lebanese Restaurant in Anaheim for a lunch date and had such a great experience. The food was incredibly tasty with so much flavor in every dish. The owner was kind, welcoming, and very friendly, and took the time to suggest some of their best dishes, which we truly appreciated.
We loved the combo dish, it was a a perfect way to try multiple flavors and were pleasantly surprised by how delicious the hamburger was as well. Everything tasted fresh, well-seasoned, and made with care.
Great food, warm service, and a lovely atmosphere. We’ll definitely be coming back and recommending this spot to friends!

Cozy Middle Eastern bakery/restaurant. Tucked away in a small plaza. They have a free private lot.
There is plenty of indoor seating as well as outdoor seating.
Their menu has lots of options to choose from.
We tried the Arab style beef shawarma sandwich which came with a side of fries. It was yummy.
The combo chicken/beef shawarma plate was also yummy.
The chicken kebab plate is also yummy.
Portions are very generous and prices are super reasonable.
Service is very friendly and hospitable.

This place yells Lebanon all over it the second you walk in. From the decors, to the busy bakery action in front of your eyes. I loved the ambiance of this place. All the seasonings were on point that you would expect from Lebanese food. The Cheese Zaatar was so good and fresh. The salads, fries and beef was all delicious. Definitely recommend this place to anyone craving middle eastern food.

Being of Mediterranean descent, I’ve always loved Lebanese food. Zaat and Zaatar captures everything I adore with rich flavors, vibrant herbs, olive oil, and lemony freshness. Every bite was so fresh and flavorful. I even got to go in the kitchen and visit the new bakery next door, which made it even more fun. The food tastes homemade and full of love. Everything is fresh, healthy, and absolutely delicious. Highly recommend if you enjoy authentic Mediterranean food made with care and flavor.

We start off with the cheese and Zaatar combo. It’s a mix of four different cheeses topped with thyme, oregano, sesame seed, and olive oil. Each bite was pillowy with the herbs & spices dancing about. The grilled shrimp pizza is one of my favorites here. Topped with shrimp, pizza sauce, corn, cheese, mushroom, and onion. It’s hard to beat. Their grilled ribeye plate comes fully loaded with rice, salad and hummus. You gotta eat this with that delicious garlic paste. Their combo ribeye and chicken breast plate is for those who want the best of both worlds. The Juicy marinated chicken is the star of this dish. If you love shawarma, this arabi style is the business. Loaded with beef, tahini, and tomato with a portion size good for two people. This is the first falafel I’ve had that was actually crispy on the outside and super moist in the inside. I can easily put away half a dozen of these. They also carry traditional yogurt drinks. It is a touch salty and creamy at the same time. It brings a great balance to your meal.

After a really disappointing dinner at another Middle Eastern restaurant in Anaheim, we knew we had to come to Zait & Zaatar before leaving SoCal, and I’m so glad we did. The Shawarma Arabi immediately caught our attention, and it did not disappoint. It was absolutely delicious.
It’s been days and I still can’t stop thinking about it, I even looked up recipes when we got home since we live across the country. The chicken was incredibly tender and marinated to perfection, with just the right amount of filling. It was wrapped perfectly in a tortilla and toasted for that ideal crunch. The pickled radish and cucumber were so good, and even the coleslaw was delicious. The garlic toum was the perfect finishing touch.
And the French fries? Hands down the best I’ve ever had at a restaurant. We were so happy to redeem our Middle Eastern food experience with this meal. Highly recommend!

Zait & Zaatar was a feast for both the eyes and the taste buds. Everything was incredibly fresh and dotted with herbs and aromatics. Portions were healthy and generous. Here is what we ordered:
1. Arayes (meat-stuffed pita)
2. Beef shawarma wrap with fries
3. Za’atar & Jibneh (cheese) Manoushe (a Lebanese type of pizza)
4. For the mezze – tabbouleh, baba ganoush (both very bright and citrusy), and dolma (my favorite)
5. For the dessert – baklava
It’s a smallish restaurant, with many ordering takeout, but I found the booth seating both charming and comfortable.
Z&Z also sell jars of their spices (namely sumac and za’atar), as well as olive oil and honey.

Another spot that kept popping up on my feed was Zait & Zaatar in Anaheim, so we had to check it out—and wow, I’ve been missing out on Lebanese food. What really surprised me was the Lebanese hamburger: juicy, flavorful beef with perfectly crispy fries on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The pizza had a nice crispy bottom, the shrimp bowl was awesome, and the combo shawarma plate was the star of the meal—hands down the best of everything. Tammy and I really enjoyed our time here and I’m so glad we stopped by. This is definitely a place I’ll come back to whenever I’m visiting Southern California again.
