Zachry’s Riverhouse is a coastal restaurant and bar serving fresh seafood, American fare and hand crafted cocktails for a relaxed water front dining experience. The Zachry’s have long been a fixture on the island from the days when their family operated a shrimp boat and seafood market until the opening of the original Zachry’s (1987) in the old shopping center. Come on down and join us in our new location to relax on our front deck while taking in the views of the Jekyll River and beautiful sunsets.

During a mini getaway to Jekyll
island we decided to try ZR’s based on other reviews and the riverfront location. A little hard to find but well worth it!! Special thanks to Mindy our waitstaff. Nice slice of coastal GA. Good food and service. Shrimp salad salad (30 year recipe) was tender, fresh, just enough mayonnaise to bind it. Oysters and shrimp combo was equally good. Everyone was friendly and wonderful.

Zachry’s Riverhouse has been a favorite from the first time I found it. It has become one of the reasons I return to Jekyll Island! Anchored by a friendly staff that makes you feel like you’re a welcome friend and outstanding food its a must visit!! The fresh shrimp, seafood and handmade chicken tenders are a must try! Make sure you try the hot butter sauce on those shrimp… I put it on everything!!! Grab an ice cold beer, some shrimp and enjoy a great view.

Lunch here was ah-mazing! Our server was so attentive and kind. I ordered a mahi sandwich extra blackened with fries and it was HANDS DOWN the best food we’ve had in 5 days between St Simon and Jekyll. I don’t normally find fries to be “good” but these- I couldn’t stop eating! Delicious!
Both kids loved their burgers and the key lime pie is homemade and so good. The photo is of our second piece, but we forgot both times to take a picture when it was first brought out.

Stopped here for lunch while visiting the island. We both had grilled Mahi sandwiches, which were good, but a bit plain. We split the key lime pie which was delicious! Nice atmosphere on the back deck. Reasonable prices!Excellent service from Courtney! Best thing was that we could bring our dogs! Thank you!

We had a few local people tell us this was a great place with great food. I think it must be one of those places you grow to love, have good memories and a go to spot for that reason. The atmosphere was nice, decorated for Christmas. The prices were reasonable. Honestly though, the food wasn’t anything I will want again, sorry.

We had crab cakes and shrimp. Both of which were outstanding. They’re lima beans were some of the best we’ve ever had as well. The cheese grits did not require any salt.We really can’t say anything negative. I didn’t feel like the price was astronomical either. It’s definitely a five-star rating in our book.

Stopped here for dinner and drinks. I had a piña colada, peach daqueri, peel and eat shrimp, and grilled red fish. Everything I had was really good and I enjoyed the atmosphere. I sat at the bar and the bartender was very nice. They were super busy when I went so you might want to go early.
