In my opinion this location is the best. The food is constantly good and the service is always pretty decent. I was not happy with the quacamole which was mostly filler and at $9.00 just wasn’t worth it. My taco dinner was very good but a little on the pricey side ($17.00). If I was in the area I would definitely return.

This place has really gone down hill and i get the vibes that they are trying to hang on to stay in business!! They have become very cheap and stingy with everything.. saw a poor old man asking for a sauce cup and lady was rude and giving attitude saying “its gonna be extra” after he nicely said he paid for it already she proceeded to ask to see the receipt all for 50 cent cup.. also food has been bland and meat is unseasoned lately… always try to give them one more chance and always end up regretting my experience.. so sad to see a childhood place lose its touch…

Been a customer of this restaurant for a while. This weekend, I picked up food for my family. My torta was empty. Had around 10 pieces of steak. Pieces of tomato were rotten. The bread was soggy.

I love going to the Zaca Tacos when I come to the city to visit family! It definitely beats El Farol in summit that is for sure. The steak on the burritos is good quality and not much, if any grissle.

This Place has been here for a VERY LONG Time. People have come and gone, but the food has stayed the same. Except the cost for things. Remember the fifty cent tacos . This should tell you how long they been at this location. Ask them if they remember what was there before them. It was a Waffle House , but very happy to still have great food and service.

The food has always been really good, however due to what happened on 12/5/25 we will not be back after patronizing for over 16 yrs. We drive almost 14 miles for our food and always get our cheeze on the side to keep chips from getting soggy. Cheese on food and drive 14 miles to take back. Fixed new order got home again about a tablespoon of steak and lots of peppers , no guac, no sour cream and refried beans placed between bottom and top chips. Like this was deliberately done for complaining. On top of all this food containers not always visible as usual when being prepared. Worker kept disappearing to the back, with our order, so what was being done to our food? We took our food that was brought back and the new order. We bought our own chips elsewhere and took everything from the original order except the soggy chips and put on our chips. We threw the new orders out because we believed they’d done something to it. All immigrants working the food prep speaking no English at all, all previous staff over the past 5 years gone, owner not there for support and no contact info. So I’m making it known this way.

The food isn’t good. It’s nothing like Mexican food. until chatgpt wrong when saying that the taco is from asada when it is from pastor.

I have not been to Zacatacos in 10 years, and I will never return!

I visited your restaurant on 71st Street and Pulaski Road today @ 4:30. I ordered a chicken taco dinner. The chicken had no flavor, no color, and no char-grill marks. I told the waitress and the manager that my tacos were not correct, and they were very rude about it.

I have attached pictures of the chicken taco dinner!

I ordered 2 steak tacos, but their meat was extremely chewy! I could barely bite it. My husband steak burrito meat was also very chewy & mostly nothing in it. I definitely do not recommend this place, and we will not be returning.

I’ve driven past Zacatacos countless times, and honestly, I couldn’t even remember the last time I stepped inside. But one thing I did remember? If you’re coming here, you’re in for something good. This visit felt like reconnecting with an old friend, familiar, comforting, and packed with memories. But make no mistake, I came back for the food… and what I got was nothing short of pure bliss.

I ordered three tacos, two asada and one al pastor and each one was a knockout. The asada was everything it should be: tender, juicy steak with just the right amount of char, seasoned beautifully with hints of citrus and smokiness. The meat was hot and fresh, tucked into two warm tortillas that held everything together perfectly without falling apart.

But the al pastor… that’s where things really lit up. It was bold and vibrant, with sweet, caramelized pineapple peeking through the savory, marinated pork. The spices danced on my tongue, earthy, a little spicy, a little sweet, perfectly balanced and cooked just right.

Topped with fresh chopped onions, cilantro, and a squeeze of lime, each taco was layered with flavor and texture. The salsas on the side added that extra kick, especially the red one, which brought a tangy heat that lingered just long enough.

Coming back to Zacatacos after all this time reminded me why it’s always been a staple. It’s more than just good food, it’s a taste of tradition, consistency, and quality. If you haven’t been in a while, take this as your sign. Go back. Order your favorites. You’ll remember why you fell in love with it in the first place.
