Before driving through Poplar Bluff, I researched restaurants and always enjoy a tasty burger. Zab’s burger was a true tasty treat. When a burger makes my hands messy, that’s a good sign, and the Oklahoma burger was a delicious mess! The burger was nicely done, toppings made it flavorful, the soft, buttery bun was great, too! I’m eager for my next time traveling through to try another.
When I arrived, the cook was on a quick break, but quickly set about preparing my cheeseburger and fries. I honestly was disappointed as the fries tasted like steak fries (thick potato cuts, if you like that). Not bad, just not my preference,…but the burger was one to keep me returning for more. Delicious and made fresh & hot! Also, on my to-go order, they used a cardboard container, so I didn’t have to toss styrofoam into a landfill.

Tucked just off the main drag kind of hidden. Staff and owner are super friendly. Had the regular chicken sandwich and it had great flavor, just wish it would have been a whole piece rather than strips.

We have been looking for a Smashburger in Poplar Bluff, and we found one. Very good! On the Oklahoma the onions were between the patties. My single cheese I added lettuce tomato pickles, onion , mayo and mustard. The fries has just a little seasoning, onion rings were as good as the looked and it was all fresh made.

Just a heads up, a $13 salad does NOT include the dressing. You are apparently charged extra for dressing to go on your salad. When I questioned it they said yes it’s included. I then asked why I was charged for it. They said you got 2 cups with each salad. I said, I did not order extra, I want what comes with the salad. She replied with, but our cups are small…….. I wasn’t refunded, I was charged for dressing to go with my salad. So, needless to say I won’t be back. $15 for a salad is outrageous even in these times, especially when it’s smaller than other places in town.

Awesome hand crafted smash burgers! Whenever I’m traveling I love to find hidden gems like this place. Delicious hand crafted cheeseburgers and seasoned French fries. Real nice people serving up real tasty quality food is true Americana. Definitely met my expectations and is highly beagle approved. Don’t sleep on this quality burger spot. Excellent food and service.

Ok, so I was looking for a good burger n fries cause I didn’t want the run of the mill, u know the king, or Donald’s, or the Soni, THEN I found this place and WOW!!!! I moved from Florida where I rated restaurant food. I was known as the “UNDERTAKER” y, you ask? Cause if food is so dang good. I always say “ITS TO DIE FOR” CALL THE UNDERTAKER ! So. Best burger anywhere. My go to place from now on. If u live in town or at the lake or anywhere you can fly like the crow does, stop into ZABS! If ur traveling from out of town, their located on Westwood across from Home Depot behind the Mexican restaurant. I told them they should put the word ,”Smashburger” on top of front entrance. I dont think anyone knows wat Zab is otherwise. The fries. Unlike any kind I ever had. I been around nearly 70 years so I should know. The Smash burger, well, “CALL THE UNDERTAKER ” cause it’s to die for. Loaded anyway u like lIke it. I got the double cheese, tomato, mayo, onions and pickle all on buttered grill buns. Don’t 4get the pickle! Omg!!! Wow! Can’t wait to go back. Prices are all reasonable, Staff is like very, very friendly and my kind of people, down south kinda people where they treat u like guest! Very clean restaurant! 10 out of 10!!! Being your friends and family!!!!

Got the Swiss & Mushroom burger and it was about the best I’ve ever had, and that’s saying a lot coming from me. Patty was moist, mushrooms were done to perfection. Fries were seasoned and hot. Burgers were not cooked until we ordered. Great job and I’m glad I only about 5 miles away because I’m coming back.

New location for this place that covid caused the other location to close. I had the Swiss and Bella burger. It was so very good. Fries are great too. $10 for the burger add 5.69 or so for the very large drink and fries. Wife had the Ol’ west bbq burger. She said it was the best burger shes ever had. Please come give them a try. We need to support our local restaurants. And what matters most is taste and quality. We will be back to try the rest of the menu. Hopefully they’ll be open on Sunday soon.
