This place is really pretty inside — the hand-painted art on the walls is gorgeous, and the setup is the same as others like it: you order at the counter and they bring the food out to you. What really threw me off (in a funny way) was that everyone working there was Hispanic, so my husband ended up ordering our Lao dishes in Spanish
They don’t serve alcohol, which was a bummer because Lao food just hits better with a beer or a glass of wine
The food itself was okay, but definitely not worth the price for how small the portions were. The Lao fried rice was fine. The Lao sausage had good flavor, but I’ve had much better. The papaya salad was just alright — we asked for the spiciest level, and it wasn’t spicy at all.
The biggest disappointment was the beef laap. It wasn’t laap at all — the meat was stir-fried, and there were literally only a couple spoonfuls in a bowl of veggies. Not Lao and not Thai.
We also ordered the Khao Piak Sen (chicken noodle soup). It tasted fine, but it wasn’t Lao style. It was basically a regular chicken noodle soup with udon noodles.
Overall, beautiful restaurant, but the food missed the mark if you’re looking for real Lao flavors, especially for the price. There isn’t any authentic Lao food here.

Been a fan of Zaap. This is their newest location (opened Dec 2024). Alexis is the owner and she’s really nice. I ordered the Thai tea, Khao Poon, and Nam Khao. All dishes were reasonably priced and full of flavors. Definitely recommend.

We had an amazing experience for dinner. The food was phenomenal, especially the riblets and Lao sausage. The atmosphere was fantastic, and the owners are wonderful people. This is a welcomed addition to the neighborhood that offers amazing food and a great price. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

After ballet class at The Dallas Conservatory, I brought my hungry (and cranky) kids here for a meal. They were so happy and loved the food—it was delicious! I’ve always wished for a good Asian restaurant in this area, and I’m so glad this place opened. The wings were amazing, and their service was excellent too.

I ordered the Laotian fried rice with chicken and sticky rice. It was delicious and the service and atmosphere was great. The guy at the register was nice and we watched the game together. I was expecting the sticky rice to be sweet which is the reason why I’m giving it 4 stars. Overall, it was a fun experience.

The pad Thai is the best I’ve ever had! I will definitely be back. The only thing I would suggest is them having a more clearly defined gluten-free menu as they were not able to assist with which items are gluten-free.

Fantastic Thai and Lao comfort food that’s quick & easy done right. You really can’t go wrong with the menu – everything combines well. Ordered this for two adults: crab cream cheese rolls, Khao Poon-Chicken, Pad Kee Mao (pictured)
and a Thai iced tea. Awesome staff, super helpful and friendly! Will be back for sure.
