The toppings and flavors are the standout taste, Thai spices are not normally what you expect with a burger. But the taste of the meat didn’t really come through for me which is holding this back from a higher rating.

The guys behind the counter were super friendly and the Zaab fries are tasty. Overall a solid burger spot doing something different with their dishes. Definitely worth a try if you’re in the area!

Was walking by and thought, why not.

Got the double Zaab burger which had a pickled jalepeno. Verdict was great size and density, loved the etched Siam inspired bun but it was extremely greasy and lacked seasoning or flavor. The grease was actually dripping out of the wrapper before I even unwrapped it.

I really wanted to love it but alas, for the neighborhood it’s still KO Burgers for the knock out.

Both the Zaab Burger and Zaab Fries were decent.. You can taste the spices in it, the mix of spicy, sweet and bitterness inside the burger and seasoning for the fries. The Thai taste in it was not strong as I expected, but I can see that it might be a bit overwhelming if they made it too strong.. Overall was not bad for a smash burger…

Zaab was the second stop of my smash burger tour of the lower east side. The food hall in which it resides is pretty cool. Unfortunately, they were out of most items, but the lone cook/cashier did his best to compensate. I was able to order their OG single burger but the one with the sticky rice buns was unavailable. Too bad. The burger here, while solid, was my least favorite compared to KO and Gotham Burger Social Club. The atmosphere was better here than KO. The lone cook/cashier, while unable to speak fluent English, was the nicest of the bunch. We used Google Translate (to Spanish) and got the job done.

When I went to nyc I was looking for a great day trip and Zaab made it happen. The burger was cooked to perfection and it was amazing. The fries were crunchy and crispy and the seasonings was top point. The whole experience was amazing and most of all the guy running the shop was super kind. Overall if this small shop was an actual restaurant, I would go every day.

We had a American Burger and one of the burgers with the sticky rice and I can tell you with certainty that this is one of the tastiest Burgers I’ve ever had ever
… The burger was so juicy and unique with the combination of the sticky bun it was just pure joy… I would definitely recommend people to go here if they really like hamburgers nothing more to say…

I probably saw this spot on IG or TikTok and was excited to try as I love both Thaj and smash burgers, so I got the Krapow Burger. Overall, it’s pretty good and a great value. Definitely very filling. I’m not sure if I was able to differentiate the flavors of the ground meat from the burger meat itself in each bite, so kinda just felt like a very meaty burger. If I was craving just a smashburger, I’d probably go somewhere else. The fries were crispy and well seasoned, just wish they gave more sauce for it (was one of those tiny cups which I think I paid extra for).

Tried the Zaab burger. Man.. the jalapeño really makes this thing. Not that spicy, but just enough flavor. A damn good smash burger.

Had the double Zaab Burger with BBQ and Zaab fries. They both were flavored and cooked perfectly burgers not dry and fries not over cooked. My only sad part was that I ate everything so fast! Worth a visit for Thai takes on burgers. Also nice that you can dine in upstairs in the Essex market.
