Yuzu is an absolute gem in Laguna Beach. From the moment you walk in, the space feels modern and inviting, and definitely one of those new hidden spots that instantly sets the tone for a great meal.

The sushi is outstanding. The nigiri and sashimi are incredibly fresh and beautifully prepared, and the special rolls are creative. The quality of the fish is amazing.

The cocktails are a highlight on their own, beautifully crafted and unique, especially the sake-based drinks.

Service was friendly, attentive, and welcoming, which made the evening even better.

Highly recommend if you’re looking for fresh sushi and delicious rolls.

Love this place. Their sushi is fresh, exotic and simply delicious. The ambiance is modern and the location is great. In a couple of visits we tried almost all their rolls and although they were all amazing, my favorite was millionaire roll. Can’t wait to go back!

We are obsessed with Yuzu in Laguna Beach! From the moment you walk in, the warm and friendly service sets the tone, truly top tier! Every dish is out of this world; the sushi is unbelievably fresh and high-quality, putting the big name spots to shame. Their cocktails are also a huge highlight. Specially crafted with their made in-house Yuzu sake. *insider tip: try their Yuzu Lemon Drop! Each visit feels like a treat and keeps getting better. My friends, family, and I can’t stop talking about it. Yuzu has officially become our new go-to sushi spot!

As someone who doesn’t eat fish, it was so refreshing to see a veggie roll with more than just cucumber and avocado! We tried the “Leaf Me Alone” roll, and it was so creative, definitely not your average veggie roll. The crispy rice with avocado, Brussel sprout chips, spicy edamame, and veggie tempura were all amazing. I also enjoyed a lovely glass of wine with my meal. Our friends who do eat fish said their dishes were delicious and they left very satisfied. The atmosphere is clean and inviting, the location is great, and the staff is super friendly. Highly recommend for vegetarians or anyone looking for fresh, creative sushi!

Yuzu is hands down the best sushi in Orange County! The ingredients are fresh and very tasty. The atmosphere is beautiful, the staff is kind, and the presentation is fantastic! I always go to the vista Mesa location. Laguna beach location was just as great and a great location! I highly recommend Yuzu Sushi for all sushi lovers and anyone that wants great food, great experience, and a great time! I almost forgot, they play great music as well!

wow holy cow this was so good! Definitely a place to come in Laguna. The Orange Blossom is so fire; there is a little truffle on it which just explodes so gratuitously in your mouth. We also go the Hibachi Steak, THE ONIONS were soooo tasty . The service was excellent and the staff was so friendly. Thank you for the good atmosphere which allows for welcoming conversation.

One of my favorite sushi spots!

Yuzu has been one of my favorite restaurants for a while now, I usually go to their Costa Mesa location, so I was so excited to hear they opened one in Laguna Beach! It’s in the perfect spot, just steps away from the beach and bars, which makes it such a fun spot for a night out.
The vibes are great, super laid back but still elevated. The staff was super friendly and attentive, and the food was amazing as always. Everything was fresh and flavorful, and you can really tell how much care goes into every dish.
The owners, Shahriar and Ryan, were also there and couldn’t have been more welcoming and hospitable. They made sure everyone was having a good time, which really added to the experience.

So glad Yuzu is now in Laguna. Definitely a new go-to spot!

We came here over the weekend for dinner. We had a reservation and arrived a little early, but we were seated right away with no issues.

That said, this location is nowhere near the level of their Costa Mesa counterpart, where I’m a regular. This place is tiny, very busy, and clearly understaffed. We ordered several items off the menu, and if you’ve been to the Costa Mesa location and enjoy the food, it’s good to know that they share the same menu. While the food quality is consistent, the overall experience is night and day.

The most notable difference was the staff especially the sushi chef who had a cold and unapproachable demeanor. When we asked for recommendations or requested anything, it felt like we were inconveniencing them. I’m not expecting a full conversation, but a simple recommendation would’ve been appreciated. Instead, it seemed like they didn’t want to be there or deal with people at all.

Maybe I’m just used to the warm, friendly energy at the Costa Mesa location, where everyone is genuinely happy to serve, eager to offer suggestions, and always excited to tell you about the special fish of the day. In my opinion, it’s the combination of food and staff that makes a place truly great. You can have amazing food, but if the staff feels cold or disconnected, it just doesn’t make me want to come back.

We ordered the following:
Brussels Sprouts Chips, Tokyo Nachos, Cucumber Salad, Salmon Skin Salad, “Are You Kidding Me” and “Dark Night” rolls, A5 Wagyu, Bluefin, and Golden Eye Snapper Nigiri. Pretty in Pink Cocktail and the Cheesecake for dessert.
All great dishes, but the lack of hospitality overshadowed the meal.

Unfortunately, this will be my first and last visit to this location. I’ll stick with the Costa Mesa location they check all the boxes for me.

Loved everything about this restaurant. Intimate, almost “boutique-like” sushi spot with upscale menu (and prices) and everything tasted as fresh as could be. The toro nigiri was worth the $11/bite and the Monster role was amazing. Id say the spicy edamame wasn’t really worth $14, but everything else was amazing.
