I’ve been hearing about this place and their spice levels so had to try out and yup, I went mild and loved it. Enough heat to make it interesting but not too much to overwhelm.

Their yup dduk ranges from super mild, mild, original and challenge. Lemme warn you now don’t let the name mild deceive you. It was not mild.

We also had a side of fried foods, seaweed balls (so fun to get your hands in there and make) and spam mayo rice. Everything was delicious and so fun to eat!

The service was attentive and nice even with the shift change. The restaurant itself is small and well kept. I love the minimalist look.

All in all I’ll be back to try their other flavors like rose and mala!

Congrats to Yupdduk on their newest location in OC! They had their grand opening a couple months ago, so I was excited to try this location.

Parking: Free parking lot. There’s a small plaza, but finding a spot can be easy.

Ambiance/Environment: It’s a very casual spot. They have a large space with a decent amount of indoor seating. No outdoor seating. It wasn’t busy, but it was consistent. They were busier closer to dinner time.

Service: We were greeted right when we entered. The server seated us at an open table. You’d view the menu and order via the tablet. If you prefer a physically menu, simply ask.

Food:

1) Omelette Rice – This was PACKED with rice! It was seasoned well and served with lettuce.

2) Yup Ki Chicken Stew – Since I’ve had their Yupdduk before, I wanted to try something different. This contained chicken, glass noodle, rice cakes, potatoes, carrots, green onions, red pepper flakes, & corn syrup. The chicken stew was absolutely flavorful and not too heavy. There was a generous amount of chicken wings & drums! I ordered this mild, and ooof they do not mess with their spice levels.

3) Parmesan Squid Steak – The squid was sliced into pieces and sat on a bed of cabbage. The squid was cooked well, though the larger pieces can be a bit chewy. I have no idea what’s in the sauce, but it was so good! It could use more parmesan since it’s in the name.

4) Seaweed Fries – Surprisingly these aren’t potatoes wrapped and fried in seaweed lol. It’s rolled rice, wrapped in seaweed, and fried till crispy golden. They were definitely crunchy. Simple appetizer to start off with.

Pricing: Majority of their dishes are shareable between 2-3 people! Definitely worth it!

Came here on Saturday night for date night/Valentine celebration w my hubby.
I’m really a simple gal and I love Korean food.
was originally gonna head to King Chang but was during rush hour/dinner time. Called to see the wait and was informed the wait time.
We didn’t want to deal with the wait.
Than YELPED Gopchang. Got to the plaza and I realized Yupdduk was in same strip of businesses. recall one of my friends coming here before along with seeing this restaurant on my Facebook feed.
I love tteokbokki & spice!!!
Makes everything nice along saw they have spicy chicken feet!
My fav too…
Boy it definitely wasn’t a disappointment.
So glad i decided to give this place a try. It just opened too last month 2.15.25
We were greeted by the manager Don when we walked in and was seated right away.
You order from the tablet that’s on each table.
Really easy to order.

What we ordered

~ Chicken Feet in Mild was pretty spicy. I recall eating something like this in Korea and it was as good here, meat is soft & tender. Recommended.
~ # 2 Rose YupDduk in mild was perfect. Not too spicy. My husband can’t eat too spicy, so it was perfect for him. It is really good and the bowl was huge! Can be shared among 2-3 person. Love the cheese on it. Another item you must get here.
~ omelette Rice was good. Just wished it was a bit on the spicy side. Love the cabbage salad it comes with. The dressing was good and creamy.
~ udon is like any other udon. Simple but hit the spot especially on cold days.
~ Ham kimbap was yummy. A great appetizer to enjoy to help with all the spice we had from other dishes.

Service was awesome by 2 servers. A boy and a girl. Didn’t quite get their name.
Restaurant was busy and kept getting foot traffic.
It was fully filled.
I want to return and try the chicken gizzard, chicken wings were sold out. So didn’t get to try that.
Simple restaurant with tables & booths. Even a bar height tables and located in same plaza as Van Dyke coffee shop. I use to visit here frequently when i use to live in Fullerton. Along w being a few doors down from Gopchang & Koko chicken Restuarant.
Parking was available but can easily get jam packed during dinner hours.

So I go to Korea often because I love travelling and trying new restaurants in Seoul. I went to Korea recently and got Yupdukk but I found out that they just made a new restaurant in Buena park California!!!~~~ It’s actually at a very familiar plaza that I always used to go to because it’s next to Koko Chicken pub / beer restaurant and by the Van Dyke Coffee Roasters cafe in Buena park! I love how they made a new spot here because they have their own parking space, which is so nice. I used to also drive all the way to Korea-town LA to get Yupdukk because that used to be the only location in LA/SOCAL aera. But now that it’s in Buena park..i don’t need to drive to k-town and fly to Korea anymore!! I love getting their korean rose (extra mild spice level) teokbokki with fisk cakes. I like getting the Set C: because it includes the rice cakes (Dukk) , boiled egg, vegetable fried tempuras, seaweed rice balls and glass noodles (japchae noodles -thin glass noodles if you’re gluten intolerant) . I also added the flat wide noodles because it feels like you’re eating malatang in rose flavor haha. They have many other flavors like mala and mala rose..but I just get Rose because it’s creamy and not too spicy. I can’t handle spicy foods too well so I just get extra mild which is not bland at all. It’s still spicy so i get the yogurt peach drinks and the banana milk drinks. The lady who greeted me was really friendly and came by my table few times to make sure we had everything. On top of the set C, I also ordered the Tuna kimbap which was very good. The tuna kimbap is perfect when you dip it in the sauce because it could get spicy if you keep eating only the rice cakes. I also added the seaweed rice ball because it was fun to make your own rice balls with the gloves so you can eat it together! The fried dumplings were also delicious to dip in the rose sauce as well! If i were to come next time.. i do want to try their original yup dduk flavor because that’s the authentic flavor of Korean street food!! I’m glad i got to try this place because it was just like the one I tried in Seoul!

If you’re too far from the restaurant, they also have a delivery and pick up option available which is nice for those who are busy to eat at the actual restaurant. I would recommend to eat it on the same day because the rice cakes can get hard the next day. The interior of the restaurant was clean and cozy. If you’re familiar with Buena park and this specific plaza, it actually replaced the other Korean rice cake restaurant that was here before. The lady was really nice and I could tell she really cared about her customers because she was always smiling and making sure we had a great dining experience. Another thing about buena park is that it is the new “Korean Town” in OC which was after Los Angeles and Garden Grove. I am so glad they made a Yupdukk branch in Buena Park so more people can visit!! 🙂

This is one of my favorite places to get spicy Korean rice cakes. They always do such a great job in balancing both flavors of sweet, spicy and savory. I love the generous portions and different selections in flavors. The restaurant is very clean as well as modern. The staff is also very friendly. 🙂

I was beyond excited to hear that Yupdduck finally arrived in the Buena Park & Fullerton area! While many places serve Korean tteokbokki, nothing comes close to the bold and addictive flavors of Yupdduck, to be honest. it’s a legendary brand straight from Korea, and their signature sauce is simply irresistible.

Their main specialty is tteokbokki, but what makes it even better is the variety. 4 different flavors, customizable spice levels, and endless topping options to create your perfect dish.

Plus, they offer a great selection of Korean side dishes and even special menu items like port cutlet, chicken stew, kimbap etc, def making it a must-visit for anyone craving authentic Korean flavors.

I already can’t wait to go back and try more dishes. If you love Korean food, this is the spot you don’t want to miss.

Erin was friendly to greet us when coming in and checking in what we need while dining in.
The food, teokbokki, was the best I ever tasted.
Considering the price, the portion is very generous.
I like their tablet system too.
Although I needed something, I saw that the server was on the phone.
After putting the request in the tablet, another server came right out with what I need.
Plenty of parking and everything was perfect!

Yupdduk in Buena Park just opened and I was happy to finally visit since I live super close to the new location. We got the original yupdduk Set A and soondae. Everything was delicious and flavorful with the perfect amount of spice. Service was wonderful, our waiter tended to all of our needs promptly. Will be back again soon!

Honestly, pretty disappointing experience. We waited for an hour, and no one bothered to check in or update us on the wait time. We had to keep going up to ask what was going on, and they just kept saying they were “working on it.” they NEVER COME US FIRST.

We added extra sausage and bunmoja, but they forgot to include them — even though we were charged for it. On top of that, we ordered rice, and after all that waiting, they told us last minute they didn’t have any and would just refund it. If we’d known we’d wait that long only to get incomplete food, we definitely wouldn’t have stayed. One table even walked out because they were so frustrated with the delays, while other tables who arrived later somehow got their food first.

The food itself? Kinda meh. Definitely didn’t taste as good as the Irvine.

Honestly, the whole vibe felt super unorganized. Orders for dine-in and pickup were all mixed up, and the staff seemed overwhelmed. It just felt like no one was really paying attention. I hope they getting better.

The food at this place is truly delicious. The clean and tidy atmosphere stands out, and even though they just opened today and seemed quite busy, the staff went above and beyond to serve with care and dedication. The quality of the food and service was excellent, and their effort to prioritize customers was greatly appreciated. This is definitely a place I’d love to visit again!
