I walked in superrrrr excited to try the fufu and egusi because I had some over a year ago and I really enjoyed it and I tried this place so I could experience that same joy I had before. The lady helping me was nice and I appreciate her but the food was terrible. It looked nothing like it did the last time I got it or how it usually looks online, it looked like straight up collard greens with a side of egusi! The fufu that I tried tasted so weird and even had aluminum or something on top of it. Great service and im sure theres great good because I went with someone else and they got something different and they thought it was great, but the egusi and fufu here was NOT it.

Went to Yum village today for Squash the Beef and while waiting I remember Yum village has the yam soup I wanted to try so I got a bowl and I try fish stew & plantain fufu.
Never had fish stew or the fish in the stew (salt fish and herring) also never have had fufu well the fufu with the stew was tasty party.
Yam soup it was unexpectedly very tasty it was sweet from the yams but hearty. Can’t wait to go back and try other dishes. Whoever read this go try it for yourself you won’t be disappointed!!

Visited here for the first time with my partner on her lunch break!

We tried the Jerk Chicken per the recommendation of the worker, which was tasty but too spicy for my low tolerance. I loved the balanced sweetness of the honey mustard sauce, chickpeas, and coconut rice. Air quality stayed below 1000 while I was there midday on Thursday as people generally came and left.

I want to try the other sauces and proteins and would love to come back!

Extremely disappointing and honestly heartbreaking.
I took my 11-year- old daughter to Yum Village because her African friend introduced her to fufu, egusi soup, and jollof rice. That friend has since moved away, and my daughter misses her deeply. This trip from Akron to Cleveland was meant to be a special moment, something comforting and meaningful for her.
Instead, it was a total letdown. The jollof rice was badly undercooked, and the egusi soup had fish in it that tasted and smelled like it had been left out far too long. It was completely inedible.
What hurts the most is that I would have rather been told you were out of food than be sold something just to make a dollar. This wasn’t just a bad meal, it crushed what was supposed to be a special father and daughter moment.
Thank God Burger King saved the night for her, because she was truly disappointed. I drove all that way trying to do something good for my child, and we left feeling let down.

The gentleman was very helpful and explained the menu items. The food was amazing. We had the jerk chicken, chicken peas, coconut rice and plantains. This is the best I’ve had since being in the islands. Each was filled with it’s own delicious flavors. We took a bite of the plantains and stopped and looked at each. The plantains were sweet and tender and moist. Not dry and starchy like others I’ve had.

The one lady working there was super sweet and was working hard but the food…….. TRASH.

Believe the reviews saying the food is inconsistent, because it’s TRUE. I paid for egusi soup and fufu but all I got was a SCAM.

They served me cold watery fufu with watery COLLARD GREENS with no egusi. No meat, no flavor. It was bad.

People pay money to enjoy food and they serve whatever and don’t offer people compensation of any sort.

ALSO, no one can be contacted because when you call the phone number you get sent right to voicemail.

I got the vegan bowl with jollof rice, plantains, and curry chickpeas. It was very good- sweet and spicy (but not too spicy). Very convenient to have a vegan friendly place here as a CSU student. And they’re sharing their space with Squash the Beef now!

Wanted some African food and came across this restaurant on Google. Owner ( the guy who served us) was really chilled and welcoming. I really enjoyed the jerk chicken with the sauce but I am not sure about the ogbono soup, it’s watery, Nigerian ogbono isn’t this way, it’s usually thick and draws, maybe there is another way of preparing it. Atmosphere was good, so will be visiting again x

Good food, many vegan options. The greens were amazing. Prices have gone up a little, bowls are 15+, but well worth it.
