I personally loved this place unlike the reviews. Its completely halal too! I tried their bulgogi beef bowl and spicy garlic chicken. The bulgogi bowl was honestly amazing and worth its price, but could use a little more meat. I also tried their spicy garlic chicken which was a bit disappointing. I loved the flavor but the size of the tenders were a bit smaller than I was hoping and overall just semeed a bit flat. Overall though, I definitely would come back for their beef bulgogi bowl and try some of their kimbap. I definitely reccomend and the bowls are worth it for its price!

I was very excited for this place , I went there on my birthday and it was amazing I order tteokbokki, Kimbap and Bibimbap but my husband order fried chicken and it was uncooked, had no taste and to oily.
The one pieces (the picture i post) come in front of my kid and was raw from inside and it was huge doesn’t look like chicken leg it looks like chicken breast.
Everything was really good but only chicken was not . Next time I will try other dishes but not chicken.
Definitely not recommended fried chicken.

0/10. I don’t even know where to begin with how bad of an experience I had here. I spent 40$ on two burgers and fries. And paid 4$ for coleslaw. (Wait til u see the picture) the chicken burger looked NOTHING like the image on their menu. The bun was so thick and the chicken was rock hard yet raw looking. We ordered honey hot and the sandwich was dry. The pickles had a gross taste to it. And then the “coleslaw” we paid FOUR dollars for… was a lil pinch of raw cabbage. Literally took a mini bite and had to throw it all out. The worst food I’ve ever had. The fries were decent only bc it was drowned in salt so you couldn’t really mess that up. But the prices were criminal for food inedible. I am so disappointed as they had a grand opening and still can’t be bothered to put some effort in their food. I am so upset at wasting 40$ on inedible garbage.

The taste was decent, but the portion size (see attached picture) was surprisingly small. I actually had to go elsewhere afterward to feel full. Unfortunately, the price did not match the amount of food provided. As someone who values my culture’s cuisine, I felt disappointed and saddened — this could give people the wrong impression of Korean food, which is traditionally generous in portion and variety.

Yumsem might very well be the most amazing food spot I’ve seen in New Jersey. The food lives up to its name, because it is insanely yummy. It was hot, pretty good portion size, and food is ready to go quickly. The service was amazing, server gave recommendations and he delivered. Atmosphere was top tier, very cozy, warm, and decorative. I would definitely come back here again, Yumsem has got a new returning customer. Overall I definitely recommend Yumsem, go eat some Yumsem!

The Japchae with beef bulgogi was a perfect match. Definitely recommend it. The chicken was calling my name so took a mixed box of spicy garlic to go which was something I’m looking forward to getting again.

One of the worst delivery experiences I’ve had.

Ordered through DoorDash and the order sat in “preparing” for an extremely long time with repeated ETA delays. There was no meaningful communication, no accurate timing, and no sense that delivery orders were being handled with any priority at all.

Delivery orders appear to be treated as low priority.

Weather conditions were used as an excuse, but the real issue was clearly poor order management and lack of transparency. If a restaurant cannot handle delivery orders in a timely or honest manner, they should not accept them in the first place.

This was not a minor delay — it was a prolonged, frustrating experience that wasted a significant amount of time. Based on this experience, I would strongly discourage anyone from ordering delivery here.

Possibly fine for dine-in or pickup, but delivery customers should expect delays and poor handling.

What’s especially frustrating is that the restaurant appeared to know they could not complete the delivery, yet continued to delay instead of canceling promptly.
This resulted in wasted time, cold food, and a forced cancellation well after the expected delivery window — a completely avoidable outcome with honest communication.
