It’s a nice small place in Cambridge Plaze, so calm, so quiet.
Air-conditioned to the right temperature, not cold but so nice, not hot, but so heart-warming.
The lady at the front desk. She was so sweet.
You see, I truly admire and respect Chinese people, they are so good at customer service, and they are hard-working people, I never felt their English is hard to understand as a barrier.
Because their body language reflects how much they appreciate your business.
I hit the chicken fried rice with iced tea.
Less than $20.
And it was so good

Wally Jo’s THUMBS-UP.

There are food joints that earn a place in your heart and this is one of them. From time to time I go up and down Highway 50 through Cameron Park and Yummy Dumplings is one of my usual stops because of a few factors.

One, I just love their pot stickers and when you do order them, I highly recommend their pan fried version. I’m a big advocate of supporting mom and pop joints and you can’t get more small-business mom-in’ and pop-in’ than this Asian restaurant. Above all, these folks are sincere in their good-natured-ness.

It’s the combination of all that which makes it not only a delicious stop, but it’s also how good it makes you feel that you’re supporting an honest small-business in an area that makes their offerings unique, ethnic and special.

Seldomly leave 5 for 5 on all three categories but this place has amazing food, amazing service and it’s at a good location right next to the 50 in Cameron park! Dumplings are tender and moist, with excellently stuffed protein of your choice.

For context I’ve been to many dumpling places all around Sacramento too, and this one takes the cake

Been here several times. Friendly service, small eatery. Kimchi dumplings are great with a tiny hint of spice, pork/chive and chicken/corn steamed dumplings were delicious as well. Good combo fried rice and the sweet n sour pork is worth a try

At first glance, this place is a complete hole in a wall. Ambiance and charm is zero. But what they do have are yummy dumplings. Hey what a minute… that is also the name of the place.

The dumplings are served steamed or pan fried. Either way, there yummy. There are various protein filling. My fave is the ground pork and chives. I have no particular preference in having them steamed or pan fried. Both are delicious.

Anyways besides dumplings, they have other menu items such as soups and entrees. The hot n sour is sooo darn good. It is deliciously sour and spicy with a thick smooth consistency. It has bamboo shoots and tofu. The blistered garlic Chinese string beans is another fave.

I mentioned this place gives off hole in the wall vibe, but not meaning it to be unclean.
Right when you walk in, you might have flashbacks to the 1990s or even earlier due to the basic decor and restaurant furniture. You may also see someone sitting in the corner assembling those yummy dumplings. They do it so quickly and precisely. I didn’t get close, just noticed from afar.

This small corner restaurant is located on the shopping complex near the freeway exit. We arrived there for lunch on Saturday noon and were seated immediately.

– Pork & chive dumplings: BEST dumplings in the area! The dumpling is big! The skin was soft & not too thick. The pork filling was flavorful and juicy! The soy sauce dip was sweet yet savory – perfect for the dumplings.
– Chicken & snowpeas: delicious. The veggies (snowpeas, carrot, bell pepper, onions & celery) were fresh and still crunchy. The chicken pieces were tender. And the portion was big.
– BBQ pork bao: these were delicious pan fried bao. The bun was soft and fluffy. My kid said the filling was tasty. I didn’t have a chance to taste it as my kid finished it all.
– Sweet & sour chicken: ok. The portion was quite generous. The chicken pieces were crispy but few pieces were a bit overcooked. The sauce was a bit too sweet for my liking.

Got the pork & chive and the chicken & corn dumplings as well as pork chow mein. Very hearty dumplings with generous amounts of filling and a delicious dipping sauce. To drink I’d recommend the lemon ginger hot tea.

Chow mein was the best I’ve had in a very long time and the pot stickers were delicious! The won ton soup has a really good broth and the won tons are very flavorful. The fried rice was just ok, but everything else was wonderful. Can’t wait to go back and try more!

What a great little gem in Cameron Park. I had been hearing about this place and finally decided to check it out.

Dumplings are all handmade. They make them right at the table. We only ordered dumplings, so can’t comment on the other dishes.

We got two orders to go. One just veggie, the other pork and vegetables. They were both delicious. We felt the pork was much better than just the veggie, but everything was cooked nicely.

We’d recommend it and will most surely visit here for more dumplings again!!

I’m not sure if these are the same owners from the Chinese restaurant, the place still has the vibe of the old restaurant. I wouldn’t give it very high stars for atmosphere. The restaurant itself is a bit old and drab. So, I’ll just take my dumplings to go and be happy.

Yup, for sure the best dumplings and pot stickers this side of the Sierras! Tried the pork & veggie pot stickers and for SURE they are fresh as fresh can be. In fact, one of the employees was in the corner of the restaurant was wrapping dumpings as we chowed down on them outside on the patio. And did I mention they have a nice little outdoor covered eating area? Pretty great when you just can’t wait to get home!
