Not a fancy place but they do have dim sum ready to serve or take out. If you don’t speak Cantonese or Mandarin, the steamers are right there for you to point to whatever dishes you like. The food comes quickly.

Decent dim sum for the price, and they have a selection of food ready to serve for to-go orders. The menu is pretty small but the selection is pretty good overall. Service is friendly and quick, and the restaurant is clean. Nothing special but still worth going to if in the area.

I ordered a plate of Hao Gao. All plates were $5. Take out only. 4 small dumplings less than 1 oz and 1.25″ width, which comes out to $1.25 per dumpling.

The filling was mostly shrimp with possibly fish paste. One dumpling had more shrimp whereas, one dumpling had more fish paste. Taste was ok but seasoning was salty for my tastes.

This is the best place for steamed bun in Oakland Chinatown! My family and I have been going here for many years and we have always enjoyed their pork buns, “big” buns (contains egg, chicken, seasoned pork, and Chinese sausage), cabbage & pork buns, and custard buns. For us, their steamed bread products are really what shine here, the bread is fluffy & soft without being too sweet or dry and the fillings are well-seasoned, fresh, and plentiful. Yummy Dim Sum was closed for a while for remodeling and our family had to try other places in Chinatown for steamed buns and all the others were not even close to the quality of this place. After remodeling, their prices were raised a bit (around $1 to $1.50 per item), but their prices are still very affordable and honestly, I don’t think any small shops in the Bay Area can survive charging any less than they do at the moment. Furthermore, the shopkeepers are very nice and patient when we go there, which is always a nice plus for to-go shops such as this. Given they are one of the last good steamed bun places left in Oakland, my family & I are more than happy to support them when we can and would highly recommend you give them a try as well!

Food: Not good
sui mai – very salty, tough pork, no shrimp or mushrooms inside.
Hard gow- tiny, dried out wrapper and shrimp. This tasted like the frozen ones you can microwave at home
Mochi- good
Sesame ball-good
Fried pork ball- okay/small

Neighborhood-in the cuts of CT, very easy to miss

Service- ladies were nice and the place takes credit card…..BUT that night I got a fraud alert on my credit card. Not sure if it is this place bc they were the only business that I gave my cc to, so who knows.

Delicate har gow and meaty siu mai are very good; I enjoyed the sticky rice wrapped in lotus leave. The baked char siu bao meat was a tad too sweet for me but I enjoyed the steamed combo bun.

Simple, super cheap local joint. Order at the counter from what’s written on the whiteboard, sit down and eat! A delicious lunch for 2 was only $8 bucks!

Unassuming dim sum spot with excellent basics. I look forward to coming back and exploring their menu. The shu mai and har gow were tasty as was the sticky rice.

Didn’t have much ready at 730am when they first opened today. Not sure why; they’re usually spot on and have a ot of cooked stuff already. Maybe someone woke up late. Biggest bummer: no coffee ☹️
