Trying to get some bao since in the area but they ran out of it. It’s the original place before they adding stores within OC. Small area and abit messing but it’s work well from Asian, the messing it is, the foods must be yummy. Just like iii stores of theirs, prices are decent and affordable. Qualify is good and big portion. This place, customer service is just so is…not quite friendly and nice like the others. Parking can be rough since the parking lot is share with the whole complex plaza center.

We had planned on trying a different restaurant, but my kiddo spotted the roast pork bánh mì, one of our favorites, and we couldn’t resist. Yummy truly delivered. The baguette was perfectly toasted, giving each bite a warm, crunchy yet chewy texture. The roast pork was served hot, just the way we prefer, with its crispy skin and fresh, crunchy vegetables making the whole sandwich incredibly satisfying.

There was long line for a Tuesday afternoon however had no issues with ordering and paying with card.

Banh Bao Yummy and Che is my go-to place for desserts every time we travel to Southern California! If you’re looking for the perfect treats to bring back home, this is definitely the spot. Here are some reasons why I love it:

– Perfect for Gifting: If you’re unsure what to buy for elderly family members or parents, I guarantee they will love the desserts and banh bao here. It’s a fantastic way to share a taste of something special with them.

– Favorites: My personal favorites are their Che and Banh Bo. The flavors are rich and authentic, making them a delightful treat. My husband is a big fan of their vegetarian banh bao, which he raves about every time!

– Plenty to Choose From: I always stock up on a variety of desserts to bring back home as gifts for my family. There’s such a wide selection that it’s easy to find something for everyone.

– Highly Recommended: For those visiting from out of town, I can’t recommend Banh Bao Yummy and Che enough. It’s a must-visit dessert place that will leave you satisfied and eager to return!

Overall, if you’re looking for delicious desserts to enjoy or to share with loved ones, this is the place to go. You won’t be disappointed!

I’ve been coming to this place for their bao, they are one of the best around. When I visited last I noticed they have roasted pork belly for just $13 per pound. So when I visited again I got 1 pound. I have to say on this visit it was the most unpleasant one. It seems everyone who works here that spoke English took a day off. Anyway, with help from other customers I was able to get my order. I asked them not to cut my order (common advice by my Vietnamese friends). The roasted pork belly (thit heo quay) looked great but not overwhelmingly tasty. It was ok, the cheapest around. The next day was another story, the pork didn’t stay crispy? So my verdict, for a quick run, yes but if I have the time I will go to the place I usually get pork belly in Tustin, less hassle and the pork stays crispy the next day. Oh and yeah, they don’t give you a printout of the weight so I checked!

Had to pickup a “real” vietnamese coffee & very happy I came here.

I’m not saying other places make fake Vietnamese coffee but I’ve had several Vietnamese coffee variations lately. Mainly where they add the extra cream/foam on top of the drink.

I really wanted to have the straight up “ca phe sua da” & this place gave just that. The coffee strength REALLY comes through & the sweetness from the condensed milk is just right.

My one critique of the coffee is also one thing I really like in my iced drinks. They give lot’s of ice, like lots of it, which is what fills your cup up. But I also like lot’s of ice, specifically crushed ice in my drink. & That is what they give you. In defense of the coffee though, it’s so strong that even as the ice melts the drink does not really get watery.

Don’t let this pre prepped coffee you see in their fridge fool you. It’s so good & so fairly priced (like $3).

We picked up some che (traditional Vietnamese dessert drink) for the gf’s mom & her friends. & We were also trying to get some banh bao for them as well but soon enough we & everyone else in line learned they were sold out. I guess that really is a testament to how good they are.

I mean if a group of older Vietnamese born individuals approve of the che & banh bao at this place it’s gotta be good right?

I’ve had the banh bao myself several times & I’m a fan as well. Its very fresh & has a nice balance of sweet (due to the Chinese sausage) & savory (ground pork meat) with the different meats & egg.

Pro tips:

If it’s your first time having Vietnamese coffee & when you take a sip of this you think it’s too strong. Just take a sec, let some ice melt & give it another go. You’ll be loving it.

You may have to bring your friend who speaks Vietnamese or learn how to phonetically sound some words out with some hand gestures or something. Just saying, this place is that authentic. Real people from the home country.

With that said the service is fine. Nothing overly friendly but not bad either. The usual quick asian service you may have experienced before.

There’s a good size parking lot for all the business in this shopping center. We were there on the weekend & found an open spot quickly.

Definitely would be return here for a “real” Vietnamese coffee. Honestly I’d drink this stuff a few times a day but probably don’t need to be inhaling all that caffeine & sugar.

The banh mi here is legit even though they got my order wrong. I wanted the thit ngoui and they gave me the dac biet. Anyhow, it’s a 9.5 inch sandwich with good fla or due to them using viet mayo and pate. Price was under $4.00. low price good quality meat and enough if it. Service typical of Vietnamese…you know what kind of service I’m talking about. What do you want? How many do you want? That’s it? Okay. Standard. Lol. I’m glad they did put mayo and pate though because some places do not.

First time here bc bf mom’s said she prefers the banh mi here over other competitors. So I also decided to try their bbq banh bao and pate chaud.

The bao reminds me of the ones at dim sum. The pate chaud had perfect meat to puff pastry ratio. The meat was also more flavorful like salty compared to others.

I had a few bites of the #1 Yummy banh mi sandwich ($3.75). Indeed, it was yummy. It was the mayo that stood out and made it more creamier and tasty. No wonder why #1 is called Yummy. Their secret sauce!

We saw the staff in the back dropped a baguette on the floor and she picked it up and put it back on the tray. I told the cashier about it, she turned around speaking vietnamese to that lady and she pretends to remove it off the tray but then she didn’t throw it away. Instead she used it to make banh mi for the customers ordered banh mi. I was gonna say something about it again but they acted like they can’t communicate in English at all that point. I assume this is not their first time. No customers deserve food picked up from the floor.

the C3 on the menu is my favorite. Remember to ask for less ice on that one. A quick solid stop for you if you like chè
