Reviews
A must-try burger spot in downtown Montreal! Yumi Burger on Rue McKay totally blew me away. The burgers are juicy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked, with creative toppings that make every bite unforgettable. The buns are soft but hold everything together beautifully. I tried the Yumi Classic and it was next-level good. The fries were crispy and seasoned just right, and the staff was super friendly and fast. Great vibe, great food—can’t wait to go back. Highly recommended for any burger lover!
For the restaurant owners:
Cleanliness needs to be improved.
Also strong smell at the entrance. Your hood is clearly not working properly.
The burger was freshly smashed on the grill and the toppings were fresh. Canadian cheddar cheese I believe as American Cheddar would impose a 25% tariff. The bun wasn’t anything special but it did the trick. Crinkle cut fries. Prices were reasonable. It was a tasty burger, served quickly. Two packs of ketchup; I probably could have used another.
Only one other person was there when I was eating, so it wasn’t very busy at all. Atmosphere was relaxed and the Football ⚽️ game was playing on TV. I gave them 5 stars because there wasn’t any reason to give them less than that.
Return to Yuma Burger for an update and I must say it’s was just if not better than my first visit two years ago!
They’ve added a self serve touch screen to place your order which was extremely user friendly. There’s a screen in the seating area which tells you when your order # is ready.
This time I ordered the Yumi cheeseburger and it was very juicy and the flavour was outstanding! Establishment was clean and in the seating holds about 50.
The service is still top notch!
5 star rating and definite spot to visit for a Smash burger!
Let’s start with the pricing. While we understand that dining out can sometimes be costly, the prices here felt unjustified given the quality and quantity of the food. A Beyond Meat vegetarian burger priced at $25 seemed excessive, especially when compared to similar offerings at other restaurants. Beyond Meat burgers are increasingly common, and while the concept is great for vegetarians and plant-based eaters, we expected something special to justify the premium price. Unfortunately, the burger was just average—nothing extraordinary in terms of flavor, texture, or presentation. It didn’t feel worth the price tag.
The fries that came with the meal were another disappointment. They seemed undercooked, lacking the crispiness one expects from a good side of fries. Instead, they had a slightly soggy texture that made them feel unappetizing. This was particularly surprising since fries are usually a highlight at burger joints, and their preparation should be straightforward. A simple dish like fries can often elevate a meal, but in this case, they detracted from the overall experience.
While the food left much to be desired, the ambience of the restaurant was cozy and welcoming. It had a casual vibe, which could make it a nice spot for kids or young people to hang out. The setting might work well for those looking for a quick meal in a relaxed environment. However, for those seeking quality food that matches the price, this might not be the right choice.
One positive aspect of our visit was the service. The person at the front was polite and kind, ensuring that we were served promptly and with a smile. Good customer service always makes a difference, and we appreciated the effort of the staff to create a pleasant experience despite the shortcomings of the food.
In conclusion, while Yumi Burger has its charm as a cozy hangout spot, it doesn’t quite live up to the hype or justify its prices. The food was average at best, with the Beyond Meat burger and fries failing to impress. At $25 for a vegetarian burger, we expected something far more flavorful and unique. The undercooked fries added to our disappointment.
For those who prioritize ambiance and are looking for a casual place to relax, Yumi Burger might be a decent option. However, if you’re seeking great value and exceptional taste, this might not be the place for you. While the staff was kind and welcoming, the food simply didn’t match our expectations. For now, I’d say it’s worth exploring other burger joints in Montreal that offer better quality and value for the price.
The fries also were quite plain, though they were fresh and hot.
I’m not saying all of them are like this but if you can’t work than why the boss hired them to work
I feel so sorry for the boss of the restaurant
Thinking that he would make money by these staff that he hired.!
No offence but true.
Disappointed!!
