Reviews
I went for the seafood but found that to be slightly disappointing, the crab was a bit dry and some of the shrimp was overcooked until it was a paste, but the cleaner and mussels were great.
The dessert bar leaves a bit to be desired, so you don’t come here for that, and although it’s a buffet they charge a dollar for ice cream.
But overall for the price this was a great meal and there is no way you can try everything, so I’ll be back to have what I missed, maybe a few times.
The service was friendly and great.
Good: shrimp & veg, green beans, Teriyaki chicken (was labeled as fried shrimp), fried calamari, mushrooms from beef w/black bean sauce (but not the beef- was tough and chewy), and rice noodles.
Ok: baked fish, chili chicken. Shu Mai. Grilled chicken.
Pass: pork chop- good favor but lots of fat& gristle;
Didn’t try: hibachi, Fried foods (incl those with a sauce), peel your own shrimp, salad bar, soups, desserts or sushi.
Very busy even on a Th after 1pm, and very warm.
Bathroom disgusting. Handicap stall in men’s room, urine all over the floor.
Service was excellent. They picked up used plates quickly.
The traffic in this area is terrible.
Was difficult getting there and out.
Overall ok, but I prefer my place over at the Tracy mall.
The price is good and food tastes good. In the beginning I had a good feeling for the first impression but it changed gradually. The reasons I didn’t like after 5 minutes
1. Hibachi guy burnt my food and didn’t even apologize. It was like eating charcoal. Our other dish was burnt too. There was another guys food on the plates that was smoking as well! This all happened after 20 minutes waiting.
2. The sushi bar had a good variety but the guy behind the counter was like I’m insulting them or something. For two times I asked where are the cooked sushi and he very vaguely waved his hand. When I looked in those areas I could visibly see the sushi was raw.
SUSHI TASTED BAD!
3. I’m a seafood person and I love the smell but others with me were getting annoyed by strong smell of seafood. It would have been better for them to have a better ventilation so ppl can sit and relax enjoying their food.
4. Number of selections are less than any other similar places I’ve ever visited.
On the good side, as I said, I love seafood and I really enjoyed their variety of items. All tasted delicious and if you love seafood too this is a good place. It’s more toward Chinese style rather than western or Americanized.
It was a super busy restaurant which is a good sign that the food is fresh and nothing is left over.
Things I liked:
1) very very clean, like shiny clean walls and floors and countertops etc
2) excellent bbq for noodles and all
3) waiters are great (speak amazing mandarin too!)
4) not loud or out of context , well kept and cordial establishment
5) very organized
Will return, especially since it’s 15$!
The food was pretty good and plentiful, lots of variety. I had a lot of sushi rolls and nigiri. My kids liked the Mongolian grill the best, but they also enjoyed the sushi and dessert sections. The hot Chinese food section was pretty decent. You can see my fil was in buffet heaven as he’s usually very restricted in his diet, he loaded up his plate like there’s no tomorrow. We all did pretty good and enjoyed the food. I thought the variety was really quite extensive. The flan was better than home made ones I’ve had so that was notable, also the kiwi and pineapples were both good and I don’t often have those fruits so I had some for the VitC . Overall, it was good and it was nice that even on a Saturday being on the weekend after Thanksgiving for lunchtime, it was still the same as weekday lunch rate. Dinner is more, but we’d not come after dark here anyways as it’s not the safest area and it’s best not to eat that much in the evening.
