Came here recently and really enjoyed the hearty, flavorful soup—it had the perfect amount of spice and richness, with fresh ingredients like tofu, green onions, and tender shredded meat. It felt like true comfort food and was definitely the highlight of the meal for me.
I also tried the bossam (steamed pork with tofu and veggies). While it was presented beautifully and came with generous portions, the pork itself was on the dry side for my taste, so it didn’t quite hit the same level as the soup.
Service was friendly and attentive, and the overall atmosphere was warm and inviting. I’d definitely come back for the soup again!

Cozy atmosphere with friendly staff. Even when busy they are attentive and keep the sides coming. The food is delicious and well portioned. Perfect for rainy days or when you need a warm soup and noodles.

I have to say that the Korean-style bossam is absolutely delicious! The pork belly is marinated and braised, giving it a rich, flavorful exterior. I also recommend the seafood noodles for anyone who loves shrimp flavor

This is one of my favorite Korean spot in the SGV. The drinks are so cheap now, 6.99 for soju and 5.99 for beer. The seafood hot pot has good portion and with different kinds of seafood. The bossam is also tasty. The service was great and the place is clean.

Today, I brought the whole family to have Korean food at Yuk Dae Jang and drink some beef soup. In the end, only Grandma actually drank the soup–everyone else just focused on eating the meat
I really liked the minimalist interior design of the restaurant. The dark gray walls paired with warm lighting gave off a very clean and cozy vibe.
We ordered the Beef Brisket Sullung Tang with Glass Noodle, the Premium Bossam (boiled in various herbs, small size)–which is steamed pork belly served with napa cabbage–the Prime Beef Bulgogi with Glass Noodle, and two portions of handmade dumplings for the kids.
The pork belly was especially popular–my wife and I nearly finished the whole plate ourselves. Then came the dumplings, which were almost completely devoured by the two kids.
Grandma really enjoyed the beef soup; since she eats on the lighter side, it suited her taste perfectly.
Everything stayed hot really well–the beef soup and grilled pork belly were kept warm with gas burners at the table, and they were served in stone pots, which retain heat better.
The servers were very attentive and provided timely service. Overall, it was a great dining experience.

We came here with a big party of 10 people, and there was only one waiter when we came. He was very friendly and quick with our orders. We got a bunch of banchan and refills upon requests. The service was surprisingly very quick despite it being a bit busy with just the one server. All our food basically came out at the same time. The food was good, but nothing out of this world. I’d say for the portion size you’re paying a reasonable price. The dishes were full of ingredients and is def enough to make you satisfied. We ordered the brisket cold soup buck wheat noodle, handcrafted mandu & rice cake in ox bone broth, and steamed mandu. My fav was the rice cake in bone broth as it’s so comforting and filling! The restaurant is a bit small, so I’d recommend coming in smaller groups. The plaza has plenty of parking, and there’s shops to explore if you’re waiting for seating at the restaurant!

Best Yukgaejang in LA. We used to go to the koreatown location but now the San Gabriel location is even closer to our home. My kids love their beef soup too.

Really popular among the local community. One Sunday night, I could hear English, Chinese, Korean and Japanese when dining in. Tasty Yukgaejang hotpot especially when the foods are totally heated in the soup including the beef rib, pumpkin, potatoes, noodles. Everything with the taste of based soup is really good with the companion of the rice. The beef toufu soup are the traditional Korean ones. The new one Premium beef Bulgogi is tasty with the sauce and rice. One other thing to mention is that I love the fishcake they offer for free. Not many people at weekday noon as the service is generally good. But might foresee a waiting line during meal hour at weekends night.
