Should’ve taken photos but wow it was amazing!
there may be a wait for a hibachi/grill side seat, but one can usually get in for just a table.
The food is always very good. Lots of variety to chose from. Rolls are great. Drinks are usually pretty good and reasonably priced.
Last night our server was Jeremiah, a great server. He’s engaging, polite and attentive.
Atmosphere gets 4 stars as I wish they had a few more TVs. Sound doesn’t need to be up but for those of us who like sports, it’s nice to glance up for big games. And the one on the patio needs to be replaced or the cable replaced because it’s all blue.
I ordered takeout at 6:00 PM for a 7:00 PM pickup. I arrived right at 7:00 and it was understandably busy. The front entrance/foyer is very small for the volume of customers, so it was pretty crowded. I went up to the hostess and let her know I was there for a pickup. She checked and said it wasn’t ready yet and that I would receive a text when it was ready.
I waited in the corner of the foyer. There were about three hosts rotating through customers, and I did notice they still had time to be on their personal phones. While waiting, I saw another customer come in and ask if his order was ready — it was — but he mentioned he never received the text he was told he would get. The hostess apologized and said whoever brought it up hadn’t logged it in the iPad to send the text.
A bit later, I noticed a couple of takeout bags placed on the pickup counter. I never received a text. I should’ve asked if one was mine, but I didn’t. About 20 minutes passed with my bag sitting there while I was still waiting in the foyer. At that point, I went up and asked for an update. It turned out my order had been there the whole time. In total, I waited about 30 minutes past my pickup time and never received a text. The host apologized.
Again, the food was great. But the takeout process really needs to be looked at, and the host staff likely need additional training on logging orders and communicating with customers. This could have been a much better experience with a smoother system.
