We also tried the karaage, gyoza, and bento, and each dish was consistently excellent in both flavour and presentation. It’s clear that a lot of thought goes into every plate that leaves the kitchen.
The staff were warm, attentive, and accommodating, adding to the overall comfortable dining experience. This place may be small, but it’s full of charm and culinary talent.
Highly recommend giving it a try—definitely a new favourite in the neighbourhood!
We ordered katsu don, karaage don, sashimi, fried tempura, and gyoza, and every dish was delicious. The gyoza was perfectly crispy with a really tasty filling. The chicken katsu was tender and soft, and the karaage was just as good — juicy, crispy, and full of flavor. The sashimi tasted very fresh, and the tempura was light, crispy, and very tasty.
Overall, everything we tried was delicious and tasted authentic. We honestly feel like we’ve found our new go-to Japanese restaurant and will definitely be coming back soon.
A special mention to Minhwa, who was incredibly friendly, always smiling, and provided excellent service that made the whole experience even better.
Highly recommend checking Yui Japanese Restaurant out if you’re in Putney!
The menu offers a great variety of dishes, including bento boxes, udon, and sushi. The sashimi was very fresh and the presentaion was beautiful!I loved eating the kingfish, salmon, tuna, oyster, and scallop. The tempura was delicious as it was crispy.
I will definitely be coming back to try more dishes. I highly recommend visiting YUI, but make sure to book in advance as it does get busy.
The menu offers an impressive variety, catering to all tastes with options such as bento boxes, udon, ramen and an excellent selection of sushi and sashimi. The sashimi was incredibly fresh and presented with great care and attention to detail. I particularly enjoyed the kingfish, salmon, tuna, oyster, and scallop—each piece was delicate, clean, and expertly prepared. The tempura was equally impressive, light and crisp without being oily.
Service was another highlight of the experience. A special thank you to Mihwa for providing such friendly, attentive, and professional customer service, which truly enhanced the meal.
I will absolutely be returning to try more dishes from the menu. I highly recommend Yui to anyone who appreciates high-quality Japanese cuisine—just be sure to book ahead, as it’s understandably a very popular spot.
