A very lovely experience. The owners who run this establishment are amazing in service delivery and creating a cozy private and warm atmosphere. It is only four seating options inside so I can see why it is hard to get a reservation but it is worth it to try once I would say. The omakase was good quality. The umami for some of the dishes was outstanding. Rare to find a place that does hot sake too so I appreciated that as well. Cost was high but fair for omakase.

Operated by two lovely Japanese mom and pop who take their craft very seriously! Prices are reasonable and the fish is so fresh and comparable to bigger restaurants. Very hard to get a reso so book in advance! 10/10

Drove all the way from Vancouver for this $88 omakase and was not disappointed. We made reservations 6 months in advance. There were 4 appetizers, 9 pieces of nigiri, a miso soup and dessert. Everything tasted fresh and the flavours blended well together. Our favourite dishes were the unagi and otoro nigiris and the monkfish liver.

By far one of the most memorable meals we’ve had in a while. A true authentic Japanese experience. Place is run by chef and his wife, and every dish is presented in an immaculate fashion, leaving us longing for the next course. We wanted to book for the next meal but had to wait till Dec for a weekend dinner by the counter. We will definitely be back, thank you again for taking us back to Japan for 2 hrs

From start to finish, the service here was impeccable—attentive without being intrusive, with the staff clearly knowledgeable about the menu and ingredients. The chef’s selection was beautifully curated and showcased a range of fresh, high-quality seafood. Each piece of sushi was artfully presented and perfectly balanced in flavor, with standouts like the buttery toro and delicately sweet scallop. The grilled fish was tender and flaky with a subtle char, pairing well with the small side dishes that offered bright, refreshing contrasts. The cooked prawn dish with ikura was an absolute highlight—plump, juicy, and enhanced by a light, umami-rich sauce. Every bite felt thoughtful and refined, making for an experience that was not only delicious but memorable.

We had omakase at Yugafu Japanese Bistro tonight, and it was absolutely delicious as always. The chef and his wife gave us such a warm welcome since we hadn’t been back for a while during my pregnancy. They even made a special tiny nigiri just for our son, which was such a thoughtful and memorable touch. Every dish was fresh, beautifully prepared, and full of flavor. Yugafu never disappoints—not only for the food, but also for the genuine hospitality that makes you feel like family.
