Pleasantly surprised. This is probably one of the cleanest Chinese restaurants that I have seen. Most impressed by the cleanliness of the bathroom as well. As for the food, I was surprised because they had a different take on the shrimp salad. It was shrimp salad in broccoli with wasabi sauce but it was amazing! Their steamed beef was super soft that it melts in your mouth. The fried fish was also really tasty and the jellyfish salad, I think I ate half of the entire dish because the pairing with the mango was just spot on. I would definitely recommend this place to friends and family.

If you are looking for an inexpensive but authentic Cantonese cousin this restaurant is a must. Atmosphere is typical Chinese. Inexpensive but practical. Waitresses are very professional and super friendly. Food is fantastic. Basically each dish comes in 3 different sizes: S,M,L. We had every order “S”. Beef casserole with radish. 0.85KG fresh steamed Grouper. 2 different veggie dishes. Deep fried pork spare rips with salt and pepper and the absolute highlight of the night, a plate with 10 fantastic hand made (made by the Chinese owner with his secret recipe) steamed dumplings. Rice and a large bottle Tsingtao beer. The damage was 4999 peso. Enough food for 4-6 people if all have their own rice. Don’t go by the looks of the restaurant. The food is Wgat you will remember, perfect !!!

Love the food, plenty and affordable! They even serve complimentary hot tea and almond jelly for dessert. Just the place is really dated, at the back of my chair were trash cans, it was empty but still I wondered why it was there in the dining area.

Not many tasty food options this side of Manila, found this place and returned many times with family and by my self while traveling, every meal was good. Not really cheap but. You would pay about 70% of the price you would pay in Australian for same dish. Worth it but as tasty af

Value for money. One of the remaining authentic Chinese restaurants in Manila —nor the modern fusion/commercialized Chinese resto. My family has been going back here for years and the food quality does not change.

Fresh lapu-Lapu and suahe. Fast service. Nice staff. Complimentary almond jelly dessert.

It was a rainy evening, near this area where we had a staycation..So, it was when we spotted this place. Although, it was already , there are still plenty of people dining in.

A quick summary for me…

The place…Not so much for ambience. Typical of a traditional chinese restaurant .

Service: They are under staffed. But, you will not be ignored. Just be patient, because of the volume of diners.

Food: Almost perfect..Not so much MSG. Not salty…Serving size is reasonable.

Price: Reasonable and ideal for groups. If you’re only a couple or alone, really impractical .

Parking. Only 3 vehicles upfront.

Value for money is crazy good! The food is amazing and the staff and service was very homey and welcoming.

One of the best seafoods, I had in Manila.
Very fresh choices and cooked in Hong Kong style… very traditionally and not too sweet.

Cheers

This is a typical small neighborhood Chinese restaurant in a tourist area. It has that old school Chinese restaurant vibe seen in movies with red tablecloths and decorations.

Food – Yue Lai excels in the usual Chinese favorites like fried rice, sweet and sour pork, steamed shrimp, fried spare ribs and stir fried noodles. Food is slightly salty but still reasonable. However, some of the items are not good, particularly the infrequently ordered items. We had the seafood soup which was too pungent. We also had the steamed Kingfish or Red Tilapia but it unfortunately tasted like soil. Be careful when ordering the live items in the aquarium as these are priced very close to top tier chinese restaurants. We ordered the Salted Egg Sea Mantis which was okay but not worth the price.

Service was prompt and friendly. They also served complimentary hot tea and free jelly dessert.

I would return just for the usual items like fried rice and sweet and sour pork but would avoid ordering less popular items.

I was looking for a bar to sit and relax but my stomach told me stop here so I did. My stomach made the right decision because the food was great and so was the price. I walked around after I eat and was heading back to my hotel room but no found a bar call Sugar Mama and stayed there for several hours and I think 2 bottles of Brandy. I regretted the next day but will do it, no time soon.
