We came at around 6 and service was fast, didn’t know this was a Michelin spot until we left but want to get what it’s known for. All the food were authentically made and the wok hay is there. This Chinese restaurant in Sacramento truly lives up to its reputation — one of the rare authentic gems of Chinese cuisine in the U.S. The flavors were delicious, and the dishes were clearly made with care, making the overall experience very satisfying.
That said, a few small details could be improved: the shrimp dumpling skin could be a bit more springy, the egg tart baked with slightly more fire, and the siu mai filling refined further to reduce the gamey taste.
Still, it’s a wonderful restaurant that I would definitely recommend, and I look forward to coming back to try an even better version in the future.

This is my spot when I want dimsum. Place is clean, food comes out quick, and the portions are decent. Only complaint is they charge $2 per person for tea but you just get one pot for the table. Would be nice if they made it free. Other than that, no issues.

Do not recommend this place. Not authentic dim sum, terrible food and service.
Food: the fried buns were leftover. They steam the buns first and fry them. That’s totally WRONG! And the inside whatever meat or vegetable of the bun tastes terrible. Ducks meat wasn’t chewable. More than of the food was left.
Service: we talked to the server about the food quality, stating that we were actually not full since more than half wasn’t edible. The server was sarcastic saying you have eaten so much and how come you’re still hungry. Police should have been called for the humiliation.

If you want Dim Sum in Sacramento, and you want the best, you go to Yue Huang. This place is Michelin-recognized for a reason; they earn it.
If you trek down to Truxel to check out this treasure, you might have to be ready for a wait, it’s almost always busy during dim sum hours. But Yue Huang runs like a well-oiled machine. Tables are quickly turned with lightning-fast service and bussing, so once you sit down, they’ll get the ball rolling fast.
Ordering is simple and easy. They give you a high-quality paper menu with a bunch of mouth-watering photos of delicious dim-sum dishes, you check off which ones you want with the provided sharpie, and you’ll quickly have a stream of food coming your way.
And all of the food is top notch. Yue Huang has an amazing selection of options, and I’ve never had a bad one. The siu mai is juicy and flavorful, the steamed buns are as fluffy as marshmallows, and the duck and honey BBQ pork are perfectly marinated and roasted. Empress chicken, black pepper short ribs, honey walnut shrimp, pork dumplings, wire-thin soy sauce chow mein; you could probably eat at Yue Huang every day and never get tired of trying new combinations.
It’s a fast and furious food experience that’ll leave you happily full before you know it, and on the road to take on the rest of your day. I’ve always come for Dim Sum, but I have to try their dinner service sometime, too; the leather-bound full plate menu has some pictures that’ll make you want to plan an evening stop.
If you’re in the Sacramento area, you’d be doing yourself a disservice if you don’t try out Yue Huang. It’s some of California’s best dim sum, nestled away in our own backyard. Do yourself a favor and see what the fuss is about.

We came here once for dim sum and once for dinner. Both were very enjoyable. I tried the Peking duck which I have I award an “A”, the skins nice and crispy and the flavorful is super savory, the meat was super tender. Very very good. One of the best Peking ducks I’ve had. I the dunegeoness crab was also delicious with the ginger and green onion, I think there is some yummy Chinese wine used for cooking it, it comes with the crab cut and smashed for you and in a sauce of your choosing.

I love it if the area and come here for Dim Sum each time I pass through. This is generally a very good experience. On this visit I found the service to be lacking and some of the dishes to be…, untasty (being polite). This is still one of the best dim sum restaurants in northern California, but it seems as though they are resting on the laurels they have received and have allowed the quality that got them there to slip. I believe I’ll wait and go to a favorite in San Jose next time instead.

A restaurant I visited again. I think it was a better memory than the last time I visited. The service was still fast, there were many customers, and the atmosphere was lively. I was especially satisfied with the cleanliness of the restroom this time. I would like to visit again if I have the chance.
